Throttle doesn't respond

I have a 4110, about 3 years old. Today while mowing I had the RPMs set at 2800 for the PTO. When I tried to stop and look at something I pushed the throttle forward but the speed did not change. Seems like there is no resistance when I pushed it forward. The engine stayed at the higher RPM. Any one have any ideas?

The linkage came apart somewhere under the dash. All you can do is tear the cowling off arround the steering column and take a look.
