throttle position at start

Just curious,
does anyone add a little throttle to start their Kubota? I have a B7800 and it starts eventually but just wonder if I should be giving it more fuel.

I "lightly" bump mine, with the goal in mind that I start it between 1000 and 1200 RPM's.

I was thinking my B7500 operator's manual said to bump the throttle when starting. Anyway, I pull it all the way down and the bump it up. Starts right up, approximately 1000 RPMs.

The B2910 manual says to set throttle a 1/2 way position. The few times I have tried this the engine started about the same as at idle (1000 rpm).
I set throttle at idle, run glow plugs and start engine. I let it run for about 30 seconds at that speed. Then advance thottle to about 1500 rpms to finish warm up.

I know the newer models are completely differant than my older b6100...but my manual says to put it on full throttle when starting...i was just wondering does anyone know why this is? seems like it could hurt the engine if its cold

Must be an older thing Andrew. The sales guy told me to start my '86 B9200 at full throttle also. I start it at full then quickly bring the rpm's down and let it idle around 1000 rpm until I'm ready to go.

I just checked the Operator's Manual on my B7510 and it says to set the throttle about half way before starting.

I usually drop the RPM's to the 1,200-1,300 range after it starts and let it warm up there.

I have a 1 yr old B7800. I have always started w/throttle at min rpm. Glo-plug for a few sec (5-10 depending on temp) and starts right up. Run at idle for 4 min. and up depending on temp to warm up. After a couple of min I put tranny into low range to let fluid warm up.

In real cold weather (like we've been having for last week) I run block heater for an hour or so before starting and try to let idle for 10-15 min before putting engine under load.

Also, I use Power Service in my fuel.

Not sure which of these has most to do w/it, but I have never had any trouble starting on first try in any weather, hot or cold.

BX23 says half throttle in the owners manual I normally start it that way and idle it down a little and let it warm up

Putting trans in low range will not make oil warm up sooner. Range gears are on output side of HST. If wanting to run engine without running HST hold clutch pedal in.
