Tier 4 emmisions, best options out there?

IMO.. I don't think they buy the credits. they are given to a company based on the number of engines they import.

This might be correct but in truck manufacturing they also buy credits from another manufacture who doesn't need these credits.

I was told by an insider that they "spent the money to allow import of more tier III units". I asked if it was like buying credits and got a "yeah". I could have misinterpreted it. Most DEF systems have an EGR. I work on all the new diesel pickups, the days of constant EGR problems are long over. Many problems with DEF systems, DEF freezing this past winter, Heaters going bad in the DEF tanks, NOX sensors going bad, you get the idea, new techonolgy come with new problems. EGR systems have been around a long time, with direct injection and low sulfur fuels, the carbon issues were eliminated. They also all have particulate filters.
