The ones I purchased from the Kubota dealer are pretty deep but I still have to be careful when filling them from the bulk tank and 'throttle' the nozzle back a bit or they tend to overflow and considering the cost of ULSD today, I don't need to put any on the ground.Absolutely correct. My old Kubota came with a very fine strainer. It's so fine that you have to put fuel in very slow.
I still remember 50 yrs ago I was baling hay for the first time with an old IH. When I removed the gas cap it said in bold letters,"Buy Clean Fuel-Keep It Clean". Since then I try to keep it clean.
I have one of those 'Mr. Funnels' as well. Problem is you always wind up with diesel in the bottom and you have to dump that out no matter what. I tend to use that when fueling my gas powered lawn equipment instead. Somewhere a while back I posted the part number for the filler neck filter element, think it's under 'Kubota owning and operating', not sure however. I really don't know why Kubota quit installing them on new tractors. They sure save a ton of grief, but then Kubota also quit installing bucket level indicators on their tractors a while ago as well. Of course you can still buy them (at extra cost) from the dealer (or make your own as the case may be). Sometimes I scratch my head over decisions manufacturers make. Like the new Kubota lever action FEL hookup deal that is a chronic leaker.
