I just scanned all the "tiller" posts and can't find the answer to my problem...which is, I attached my tiller to my 1100D last night, my tiller attaches by bolting directly to the rear transmission of my tractor, four bolts...It appear that my two lift arms need a attaching bracket from the lift arms to a lifting brackets on the tiller. It also appears that a chain on the tiller drops into a cut-out on the top of the tractor transmission most likely to hold the tiller at what ever height you wish it to be while traveling with it.....my question is...is this correct and what do the arm extension look like, as mine our missing......

Thanks for any advice.

cootbruce,

I do not own a yanmar tiller, but I recently stopped by a guys place that had all used equipment. The tiller I looked at had been painted blue (with a paint brush), but I am pretty sure that it was a yanmar (Japanese writing on the parts not painted blue). The tiller had all the parts with it, but was missing some tines and was asking $300 for it (approx. 48" tiller).

Looking at it; the plate would mount to the tractor as you described. The PTO shaft would be in the center of the hole and if you have a 3ph system; you would have to take it off to use the tiller. There were two dog bone shaped supports that attach to the lift arms of the tractor and run down to the tiller. Looking at it; it should give enough lift to keep the tiller off the ground.

Just my 2 cents.

Here's the ebay auction number for the tractor that I just bought. 4366769946 I don't think the chain you mention was installed, but I know the tractor has the bracket for it. Notice that the wheels are resting on the ground. You can also barely see the links that are needed to lift the tiller. Hope this helps.

Here's a close up picture of the links you are looking for, these are on my RS1100 which came with my YM1301D. The top ends are normally a "U" shape to go around the upper lift arms, and a pin goes through. Since I put a 3pt kit on on the tractor, I just cut off one side of the "U" so I could slip it over the pin I put in the upper lift arm.

If I were you, I'd just get a couple of pieces of 3/8"x1.5" steel bar stock an appropriate length and drill holes in each end to connect to the upper link arms.
