Tiller for BX1500

I am looking to purchase a BX1500 and tiller. Are there other tillers that will work with this tractor other than the Kubota B40C? If so who are the manufacturers?

Any manufacturer that makes a unit sized for the BX will work. I don't have a BX1500 so don't know the lift spec's etc. but the King Kutter brand has BX specific units that would probably work.

I have a standard King Kutter 48" that i use on my BX1800 and it works. I did have to modify the lift arms to allow me to load on my trailer, but it handles it fine.

I would think the BX1500 is probably more to the tune of a 42" though.

Other mfg's like woods, first choice etc. make units specfically designed for the BX's besides the King Kutter.

Also may want to check out CCM member that deals in tillers.

Tractor Supply Center has tillers and the 1500 will want a 42" tiller because anything bigger would be too much. A cheaper brand might be ok but if it is a long term investment you might want to look at the OEM and see where it shakes out at.

Don't get too caught up in the "proper" size unless the right deal comes along. If you happen to find a tiller that's too wide, you can always take off some tines. You probably only need to be concerned about weight and to some extent, front ballast will help there.

I have a Kubota B7510HST (21 HP engine) and bought a used Yanmar RS1200 rototiller (48" wide, $300) with a 3pt hitch. You can find these at the grey market tractor dealers in your area.

My little 37" Muratori is a charm on my BX2200. This smaller size may be a good match for a BX1500.

I bought an older Kubota K420 42" tiller and converted it to front mount. It was made in Italy, I think by Muratori. It works great and is well suited to my F2400 (24hp). A slightly smaller unit like the 37" may be a better match for your BX1500. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The CR45 tiller works fine on a BX1500. Gear Drive, 6 tines per flange, adjustable hitch blocks for Kubota's limited CAT 1 hitch. 10 PTO HP MIN. is needed when using the tiller at maximum depth in clay sod.

CCI, How many tines does your CR45 tiller have? Your web site says 27 ? I figure that's a typo as 6 per flange doesn't work out unless there's a half a flange somewhere.

A 6 tine per flange has 3 left tines and 3 right tines. We choose to locate the end flanges next to the end plate in such a manner that the tines only turn in so you have only 3 on the outside flange. This design gives this tiller a better scroll design for this size tiller.
