I was sure thinking of your invention yesterday as I was using a hoe to pull up my beds after tilling with my Woods PTO Tiller.
By the fall, I should have something made up to solve that labor problem!

Nomad, that looks like a good idea to add to the tiller, very similar to the poster's but with that middle buster type spade, instead of the half shovels on his, the dirt would be pushed out more to the sides instead of the neat beds that he made right?
Or would the adjustment make this a non-issue?

The receivers are welded to the tiller about 1 1/2" down from the top of the tiller frame to the bottom of the receiver with a plate added to cover the back of the receiver and to add more weld area. My tractor has no trouble pulling the load, this is a finishing tool. I disk and chisel plow the garden first with my other tractor then run the tiller over it with the bedding tool removed until I get the seed bed I want then attach the toolbar and run off the rows.

Now you only need to add one more tine with a chisel on it to dig the furrow in the top of the bed. You could just make it a longer tine that could run between two of the S tines at the top of bed. Should really be easy to attach it to the tool bar.

Nomad care to share any more info on that ridger, combining these two designs would appear to be perfect.

Wall do you happen to have part numbers since you ordered them?

I am proud of my country and I fly the flag to honor the brave men and women who fought for our freedom and continue to fight to this day so that I can buy what ever tractor I want! Oh yeah and I am proud of my tractor too it’s a nice machine……................

Wall,

It took a bit to figure it out, but now that I see it, if I had to stand in one corner or the other, I guess I would be in yours... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Not sure why we should need corners though... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thanks for flying the flag in my honor.

"We must all hang together," , "or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately."

Anyway I guess your not likely to post that part number. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Guys,
FYI my tiller has a removable V cut into the the back gate. It leaves a nice big raised row as you till along. If you want the ground all flat, the V fits back in and is bolted down. It seems to me that this could be done with any tiller as long as you are willing to cut the V out and then add an a flange on the inside that you drill thru so you can bolt it back if you wish. Just a thought. My tiller is a gray market Yanmar.

That sounds like an easy modification. I wouldn't think you'd get a very high hill though. I decided to buy a leinbach two disc bedder. A lot more work, but it does the job, and I'm getting nice wide, high hills from it. Once I learned how to set it that is!

This project certainly got my interest. I printed out the Agri-Supply catalog on page 20 and was wondering how I should go about determining which bedding sweeps to order. Any suggestions?

I have no idea. I am not a farmer or gardener, yet. However, I did purchase one s-tine and one clamp that I will be using to prototype up something for myself later this spring.

Wall could answer that, as is it looks like 12-16 inch from the pictures.

I'm gona have to build one, has to save a ton of time. What if one was to fix the shovels to a rotating shaft at the rear and add a hyd cyl on a crank arm. One end of the cyl would attach to the back side of the top link, the other to the crank arm keyed to a shaft with the shovels fixed to the rotating shaft. Think you would be able to raise and lower the shovels from a remote on the tractor??? You could do your rough passes with the tiller first and tilt and the shovel raised. Tilt the shovels down when the soil is ready and cut your rows. More trouble than it's worth???

Wall, I followed your lead and made up a similar setup.
