I have a 4ft JD tiller behind a JD 755. For Some reason
the tiller today was being pulled, not straight behind but to the left (Your left as you are seated on the tractor. Tiller closer to tractor on this side and on the right side farther away from the tractor.) The sleds are adjusted on the second position for a slight rise (digging higher as opposed to lower) and I have the 3PH all the away down. I must add that ground conditions were very damp. (day after major rain) Center is hitch is adjusted for tiller being level on the top. Right adjustable hitch is slightly raised as it always has been.

When this happensit was more pronounced in one direction as opposed to the other and at times it was so bad that I was not tilling my right side tire marks. When you look behind you can see PTO shaft at a severe angle too to the left (right as you look behind.)

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Hey there,

Mine would pull to one side if my turnbuckles on the 3pt hitch were out of adjustment (i.e. not adjusted the same on both sides). While tilling I noticed that after a while vibrations would cause one of the locking nuts on one turnbuckle to turn to the point where the entire turnbuckle turned and caused room for the tiller to sway or pull to that side. So I would reccommend making sure both turnbuckles are adjusted the same.

"turnbuckles"......I have the same tractor as you. 755 4wd. Stand at the rear of your tractor, look at your 3ph arms. Mounted right behind the axle on both sides is a "bracket". The bracket has a "sway chain" attached to it, that attaches to your 3ph arms. Keeps your arms from swaying side to side. If you dont have any, or if you have light weight ones, I suggest you go to your local JD dealer and get a set. I have gone thru 2 sets each side. each set cost bout 45 bucks. the JD part #'r you need are........AM119881 SWAY CHAIN, and make sure you get this part along with it, cause a reg nut wont fit, nor is strong enough. 14M7328 LOCK NUT. Both of these numbers are the heavy duty type. the light duty ones wont last long. When you get them put on, adjust the turhbuckle to be equal both sides so your pto shaft lines up staight and true, and get to tilling! check the buckles every now and then to make sure they havent moved. By the way, I have a Land Pride tiller, same width as yours. loader, well, see my sig.
