I don't often post in this forum, so I don't know who all is here, but I'm sure someone will know the answer to this one.

I have a JD 240. This weekend there's an auction near here which has, among other things, 2 JD 212s, a JD snowblower, and a JD rear tiller. Presuming the tiller is for a JD lawn tractor rather than a CUT or SCUT, does anyone know if it will fit the 240? If so, how is it driven? My tractor is stored for the winter and I haven't had a chance to examine it for any kind of rear PTO or belt arrangement or whatever it might have.

If the thing will adapt to my 240, about what might it be worth?

I presume that if it is for a larger tractor the standard 3 point arrangement and PTO on my Case will be sufficient to operate it, and again I wonder what it might be worth.

Yeah, I know I could get all this by calling the dealer, but this is more fun! :)

You might want to ask this in the lawn and garden section. Most of those small tillers are belt driven, and many are specific to a particular tractor model. Others will know more about this than I though.

need more info on the tiller, it might be a mechanical drive, which will run behind just about any garden tractor. as far as 3 pt flavors, I run a 50" behind my 2305 with no problem

All I know is the listing says "JD rear tiller". I won't know more 'til the auction when I get to see it during the hour or so before the sale starts. Does anyone have any kind of compatibility chart or something? I got my 240 at auction, too, but don't know which attachments might fit it.

My old 1960s model Bolens garden tractors have front and mid PTOs.
The tiller is drive shaft driven from the mid Pro.
