Here's what I do at the beginning of a row. May or may not work for you. I put the clutch in, engage the PTO, rev the engine, lower the tiller, put a little pressure on the forward pedal, then slowly release the clutch. Everything starts at once and you mostly avoid the ditch at the beginning of the row.
