I have an Econoline 7 Ton Deck-over with a single cylinder that acts as a shock to slow the tilt action of the trailer bed. Works perfect! FAST, easy and safe loading and unloading. The deck starts to tilt when the load CG cross-over the tilt pivot. So, I know when I am starting to apply tongue weight. It helps me to determine how much tongue weight I have for that load. Being a tag-along, I can put any loose items in the bed of the truck.
I would not want a hydraulic tilt, unless I could use it for both a hydraulic tilt and bypass so the cylinder acts like a shock absorber.
