Tilt Steering

Mike, the way I read that thread, I have the opposite problem. Mine will tilt all day long, and the telescope works fine. The tilt will not lock into place. The locking lever just flops back and forth, and when I release the steering wheel from where I am holding it to lock it, it just tilts straight up because the locking lever won't engage.

Half take the tractor apart to fix it? Oh nooooooooooo!

Jim,

That is exactly what mine was doing it before the dealer fixed it. I wish now that I had asked some questions when I picked my tractor up but, alas, I did not. I checked it before I loaded it on my trailer and it worked so I did not question what they did to fix it. Wish I could be of more help...

Thanks Chris:

16 hours to the 50 hour - I'll have it taken care of then.

Jim,

From what you're describing it sounds like you have the same problem I had. The cylinder still has pressure but the lock won't click in. It's that control valve that is stuck in when it's depressed. I think I got lucky and got mine freed up w/ WD40. Unfortunately the cylinder is very unaccesable without taking lots of stuff apart.
