Pics 95 - 96

Here's one more pic of the frame. These are the scissor trusses I had made for the upstairs hallway. The hallway is the start of the stick built portion of the home so the trusses should be a nice accent to help carry the timber frame look over. There will be four of them in the hallway.

I've got a trencher rented for Wed to trench the water line the rest of the way to the house. We've got about 1450 feet of line to trench and run from where we terminated the line a couple of years ago. Power company was out last Friday as well and put flags in the ground for running electric. They will trench it in next week. Looks like about 1700 feet of electric to run from the closest junction box.

Scissor Truss Accent Pieces

They also cut the mantel to size for us.

This is awesome. This is going to make my build look like a common shed!!! Now that we are ready to move in, I will have more time to enjoy looking at your build. Keep it coming.

Wow, I really like that poured basement......I wish I had bit the bullet and coughed up 4 more grand to do mine that way instead of 12" block. I actually went to a week long Timber Frame workshop in NC before I built my log home. I am glad I did because I now respect the skill level and the time involved in building one. Looking forward to your frame up..........

Wow. The 170' I did and the pull was near the top of the list of things I hated doing on my build. I am glad they are doing that for you. Hopefully, on their dime.

Luckily they cover the first 1300 feet free of charge. Should run me less than 1k to run. We actually have 9/10 of a mile of burried electric total however a majority of it was ran by our neighbor who is also starting a build shortly.

Pictures 97 - 98

We finished up the water line today. We ended up running 1540 feet of 2" to connect to the end of the line we put in a few years ago. We now have a total of 4,700 feet of water line from the main to the house. I spent about 8 hours total running the trencher. It's been a long time since I've run a trencher and really don't have any desire to do it again anytime soon. It went pretty smooth, no rocks, only two bee stings, and chain came off once. Worst part was riding along at 200 feet per hour. After 6 hours I was out of music on my phone and running out of things to keep my mind occupied.

Laying and connecting the actual water line only took about 1-1/2 hours with three of us. We used 2" gasketed line which made connecting the pipe a lot faster than expected. No glue, just some pipe soap and a quick twist and push to connect.

Used the tractor and rear blade to fill the trench back in. Finished up just after dark tonight.
