there they are! how many timber framers were on site to put up the frame?

5 guys total. They arrived onsite at 11:00 on Monday. They unloaded and assembled the bents on Monday. Tuesday morning the started at 6:30am and finished around 5:00pm. I'm working on the time lapse video now.

Forget the TF project:laughing:...I just want your photography skills......NICE!

Looks great and I bet you can't wait to get the roof on. Going with metal?

Years ago I (and about 40 others) helped a friend with his timber raising for a two-story house.

He cooked up a big pot of chili in a cast iron kettle outdoors, had drinks and chips on hand too.

IIRC four guys came with the timbers from the factory workshop in NY. They directed the army of ants as to where each piece went and the order off the truck while they scampered around putting the pegs in. No crane. It was fun to see it go together and was done is one fairly long day.

Thanks for the compliments. I was bit by the photography bug a couple of years ago after buying a dslr camera for family photos. It's been a continuous learning process and I feel like I'm just know starting to get a good feel for the camera.

As far as the roof we are probably going to go with regular shingles. I prefer the look of shingles and also don't have metal in the budget.

Great pics jk. Glad you are documenting this home build. It looks like this frame will be there for centuries. What are you planning on for the exterior?

Just think what the pictures will add to the home over the long haul. And by that, I'm thinking when your great great grandchildren are living there.

:)

PS, great looking kids. Looks like school uniforms. I wish our schools did that. I would certainly vote for it.
