Went to Fire up The 'Bota for our big PA snowfall.. No Fire and no Up LOL.....
Plugged it into the charger and showed the battery not taking a charge. jump started it for the day and then headed to Wally world for a new Battery. I knew it have been 3-4 years at least. So I got a new 26-R w/540 CCA for $72 plus the $12 Core Fee (I'll get that back next weekend). 30 minutes later, fired up and running smoothly.
I checked the last date of install (my records) and lo and behold, it was January 2009. I got 6 years out of the Wallyworld Everstart. Pretty pleased about that.

What do others get out of their BX's?

I don't have a BX but my 2005 B7800 still has the original battery.

I have used the high dollar batteries in the past and did not get any better than the Wally bats. Six years out of a battery is good by today's standards.
Might want to stay with the Everstart.

Some Walmart batteries are made by JCI (Johnson Controls Inc), the same company that makes Interstate.

Nothing wrong with Wally batteries.

On a side note, be careful jumping these tractors, if you use the glow plugs while charger is set at high amps it will burn them up. Only jump with another battery or jumper box.

My bx2200 has the original battery from 2001. Tractor has about 800 hours on it. Starts every time, no problem.

Still have the original battery in my BX24 since 2007 i think. that makes it somewhere 8ish years .

I got almost 10 years out of the original battery in my 2002 B2910. I, too, bought a new battery at Walmart a couple of years ago...if it lasts 5 or 6 years, I'll be happy. I keep the tractor in my workshop, and usually run it every 3 or 4 days in the Winter, and that seems to keep the battery up, and ready to go.

Just replaced my 2004 OEM battery this past weekend. It would still start the tractor except when below about 30F (I got caught needing to use the tractor one morning recently when about 10F). I didn't find the 26R called for, but a group 34 fit just fine - 800 CCA Interstate from Costco was $83. I've had good luck with EverStart before, but this is my first Interstate.

I had my BX for 9 years and changed the battery. Just had to change the battery on my 10 year old Tundra. Don't want jinx myself, but I have had good luck over the past 10-15 years with batteries.
