With more and more geo-political topics showing up under the "Off Topic and Just for Fun" category, is it perhaps time to put together another (more "On" topic) TBN category? Given the productive exchange of ideas, commonality of philosophy (ok, sometimes, anyway) and camraderie that occurs here, I doubt these type of discussions will just go away.

I say no. I've heard that some where either tried here before or the Off-topic just got out of hand. Yes, there is an Off-topic forum but lets still remember this is TRACTORYBYNET not POLITICSBYNET. If you want to discuss politics go somewhere else. I'm not trying to start a war and I'm not attacking you personally. That is just my feeling.

No, you won't see a political forum here... that always has been our final stance on the issue. We'll allow civil discussions of political topics, as we have for years, but not dedicate an entire forum to it.

Wasabi....

Well, I'd have to plead guilty here. Don't know why geopolitics and current events touches people's nerves. Likely because it affects one's pysche and emotions to various degrees. But, it is 'Off-Topic' from tractors and if not posted in the Off-Topic forum then it'll show up somewhere else. Maybe, it warrants a separate forum, maybe not. Guess it's up to Muhammad and the moderators to decide that. But, I agree with you. It does stimulate camaraderie and friendships (and unfortunately some enemies /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif). And, this isn't all bad.

Another thing to consider is how does one define 'Off-Topic'? For me, it's just about anything that isn't tractors.

Wouldn't that be a great name for a band?

Hey Dave.....you may be on to something. Maybe their forte should be tractor tunes. This will be a sure winner....especially here at TBN. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Politics, religion, and tractors make strange bedfellows, lets leave the politics to the political websites.
