We've done it. We had a very nice stay at a brand new Marriott in Nashville on Fairfield timeshares. We paid taxes on the room and that was it. We got away with a nice weekend at a great Hotel and a free steak dinner at a nice restaruant.

Of course it is a high pressure sales tactic and they try to make you feel like your scum for not falling for their rediculous sales pitch. They try to justify your costs by saying "well lets see...if you spend 2500.00 a year on vacations now, in 15 years you'll have spent blah blah blah..." and they show you all these numbers on these charts, but their math is flawed and they are really comparing apples and oranges. Plus with ours they weren't figuring in a rediculous MONTHLY maintainance fee. Which is even more rediculous as we wouldn't be staying there every month, only two weeks out of the year.

If you add up what they are making off of each unit they sale at two weeks at a time, it's easy to see why they are in the business. They make millions if they can get you to sign. The kicker is they won't mail you anything to look over..you have to sign up right then. I find it EXTREMELY pleasurable to take all they offer like a big hog at the trough, and walk away without buying. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks to everyone and your replies.

I decided to give it a try and see what they're all about. I called yesterday morning without anybody answering the phone. I tried again this morning with the same results.

Twice without answering sets off my red flags. Seems they are either not very profesional, or this isn't on the up and up.

Oh well, a free trip would have been nice, but then again, it would mean a week away from my tractors!!!!

I forgot that one time they were giving us this same line. We retorted that we usually camp at state parks. The guy looked incredulous and said something along the lines of: "Do you know what kind of people stay at state parks? You want your children around them?" to which we replied: "We ARE those kind of people!" Heh. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
