( ( i am curious why any service dept. wouldn't want to do the work whether it was bought there or not. ............................. I go to get truck service it is hi David how you doing today. they know i didn't buy my $30,000 plus truck there, but are more than happy to have my business. so why would it be any other way at a tractor dealership/service dept. )

how can they have such a backwards belief?
there are just as many tractor dealerships around as there are car dealerships. when i bought this truck i got it 8k cheaper at another dealership. but the one i use to do repairs and service does not care becuase the service dept. is it's own entity. which means it is responsible for it's own revenue. why do you think you get a bill for dealer prep. it is becuase the service dept. charges the sales dept. for srvices.

<< Kubota seems to be bent on preventing all sorts of internet activity >>.

Does someone have clear objective evidence that supports this statement?

This statement comes from the second post in this thread.

Mea Culpa, I bought Red not Orange but this applies to any dealer. When I was researching my potential purchase I spent hours via Email with several dealers of all colors. It's my money- who can get me the answers I need? The dealers I stayed in contact seemed happy to reply by Email, the reply can be done on their schedule. I finaly went with Woodbury Treactor. Bob Wolff is a regular poster, answers ASAP, competative prices, easy drive to the shop. IMHO, any dealer not hooked up to the net is going to get left behind in the dust.
Would the dealer rather spend time in the showroom explaining or send out an anwer electronically when he has the time /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif I don't have hours available to drive all over just to see if the dealer is free to answer questions.

I disagree with that. Until you hear Both sides of the story it can not be assumed that that is correct. I know the fairs went up on their prices for vendors in 04'. & I know that Kubota has been doing very well in sales between the BX's & the grand L's, Bottom line is I wouldnt judge Kubota by their attendence at the fair.

I agree with you smittyd3, the older dealers are much better the the newer ones. My dealer has been around since I was a young child and I'm 54 now. I own a HSTC 3430 and a BX 2200 and just sold my B2150 which I had for 6 years. I have had no real problems with either, but when I have had minor problems they bent over backwards to help. My BX 2200 had the fuel sensor problem that nearly everyone else had and I told the dealer that I couldn't bring the tractor in for awhile and the mechanic said, no problem, I'll be over your way this Friday and we can change it at the house. Talk about a house call, WOW /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif, I about did a back flip. Sure enough, he kept his promise and we both got it repaired at no cost to me!!! My 3430 had some chips in the glass on the side door, probably from shipping, again it was replaced with no questions asked. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones to have a dealer such as mine.......................................Bill

I get the same excellent service from my 'Bota dealer here in Southern Maine. Fuel sender was fixed at my house for no charge....I did take the cab off but they did everything else.

I bought the 2200 a couple of years ago and since then have bought a chipper as well as a few other "small" accessories. I also buy my chain saws from them. Great service on Stihl also!

Guess the owner wants repeat business by giving great service! Too bad others don't do the same.....

Sorry to hear that Ramon69. I hope I don't ever have to find out Kubota is in the 1% I didn't include in my success rate. So far, my dealers been pretty good.

( What I don't understand is how he gets around the Kubota directive that prohibits internet sales and sells tractors in other states. (Tractor Sales / Computer Support, Central PA, NJ, DE, MD, NY, VA,CT,MA) )
(The issues is not Kubota, or anyone else for that matter, not liking internet sales.)
There is no directive from KTC that prevents internet sales (YET). If a dealer sales a tractor online, that dealer is required meet face to face with the customer. KTC does not encourage internet sales of any kind, wholegoods or parts. Kubota owners had better stand up for sites like tractorsmart or they could be a distant memory.

I agree with the earlier statement that The "Old" dealer are better than the "New".
I have two Bota Dealerships near me. Both "USED" to be very competitive with each other. Then one owas bought out by a Younger guy who has driven the dealership into the ground.
When I call to check prices on parts, the "New" dealership is ALWAYS two time more expensive. They are rude and nasty. It shows there are good ones and bad ones. Depends on who is running the place and what their attitude is.... it trickles down AND it shows.
I will say I was hoping to purchase a new B3030 this year, but after reading all of the problems people seem to be having with Kubota Dealership and getting warranty work done, I'm just going to stick with my old tractor. OR... go with the "Green".
