Time to find a new Bota Dealer

"Advice from a dealer"????? If I walked into a dealer in Connecticut looking for advice, who exactly would dispense this "advice"?
Maybe a commisioned salesperson, about 21, the fourth thats come and gone this year, who doesn't even own a tractor.
Maybe Messick is different.

I never thought it would happen but my dealer turned very cold when I showed him my copy of a Kubota Service Bulletin. Loyalty goes both ways and benefits both parties.

I also find it disturbing that a regional rep from Kubota would tell someone they can not have warranty work done at a given Kubota dealership. It was my understanding that as part of their franchise agreement all dealers had to honor warranty repairs regardless of where the tractor was purchased. What if you just moved to an area and brought your tractor with you? It is understandable that a dealer would take care of his customers first so you might wait longer but warranty work is a company obligation and the dealers are the company’s representatives. It should not cost me more to take my tractor and trailer it to a distant dealer so that the company’s obligations to me can be met.

Does anyone know for a fact that and it isn’t part of a dealer’s obligation with Kubota to honor warranty issues? Out side of warranty repairs I can understand how a dealer could refuse to do business with a given individual for whatever reason…….short sighted maybe….. but that should be their choice.

PS: Brinet, I agree with the forums position to not allow us to use particular dealers names for the reasons Bird mentioned. It isn’t against any rules to fill in your profile showing what area of the country you are from

A"good" dealer is everything! Doesn't matter if it's a tractor, car, truck, or household appliance. I just can't get over the fact that a dealer would respond that way about TBN. I told my dealer about it and I think most everyone in his shop "cruises" this sight. When I had the most recent issue with my tractor he asked me if I had posted anything and whether I had gotten any response from the TBNers. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Liars indeed!!

Gosh this thread is dragging on. The point is simply not to take anything found on the internet as Gospel. There is quite a bit of information that is out of date, simply wrong, or clouded by bias. It only takes 1-2 vocal people to make it seem like the sky is falling. This is not just the case with TBN, but with just about anything you find on the internet. These kind of resources certianly should be a substantial factor in any kind of research that your doing , but they are not a substitute for first hand information and experience.

One major bottom line issues that is comming out here is an old topic that some people still ignore. One of the most important factors is local first line support from an experienced reputable dealer. When you buy a tractor your not just buying a New Holland or a Kubota, but your also buying into the support system from the dealership. Thus, the reason why all internet policies exist... but thats a different topic.

Since you sell and deliver in many states, and from your previous post in this thread that you also service these machines. Will your company do warranty repairs in these states that you deliver to on machines that you didn't sell, just like a local dealer is expected to do for machines that he didn't sell? Will you do paid maintenance & service repairs on machines that you didn't sell also in these markets? Thanks...

We do anything a customer asks us to. Now Granted, most of that kind of work has always has freight/trucking expenses involved so it has to make financial sense for the customer.

How about warranty work on a machine that you didn't sell? Do you charge for that or is it no charge because Kubota is reimbursing you?
