Time to Retire - sort of...

CONGRATULATIONS !! You certainly deserve to retire, especially on your own terms. But you make me feel really lazy, I retired at age 51 and have only done part time work once in a while. Another 18 months and I can begin drawing SS so it's not likely I will ever return to work. I admire your determination to continue being productive.

Jim, first and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS! What a grand achievement to have to look back on.

As you stated, being married to a retired US Navy Captain is a big plus. Isn't it funny how those military benefits are so important in our later years? When we were young, the military seemed to be just a passing nuisance, but now those benefits provide security and freedom. I DO think it's funny that your wife has retired to the Mojave Desert. I guess she got enough of the ocean while in the Navy. I'm the same. I like to go visit the ocean, but I prefer to live miles away from it.
