We have not watched the local or national CBS, ABC, Fox, NBC, channels in six years. Nothing there to watch.

Directv has been good. But I would like to get rid of it. We talk about canceling all of the time but even at $85ish dollars a month it is just good enough to keep. We do not watch many movies. If we do we buy DVDs. We watch the science, history, food and Disney channels.

The problem we have is that for all of the channels we watch danged few of them. Many times the best thing on is a cartoon. Sponge Bob Square Pants, Penguins of Madagascar, and Phineas and Ferb are far better than what is on the other channels. :D

The problem is that $85 a month does not buy you alot of DVD's so Directv is still somewhat worth it.

We are still using the receivers we got 6 years ago. We are going to talk to the phone company since they bundle Directv now. Maybe it will save us some money.

We used to have at least as much weather related issues with TWC than we do with Directv. Heavy rain would knock on TWC. We used to laugh at the TWC lie that their service was better than Directv.

I really wish we could get content off they Internet but the content that is available is not what we watch.

Later,
Dan

I remember the time before there was cable TV. When it was introduced, people asked, why would I ever pay for TV? The answer was, there is no advertising on cable TV!

+1 Boy, that did'nt last long LOL! My father is still on the antenna, as in free tv - he notes that as long as cable/dish costs more than the water bill he'll never have it.

We have DirecTv now. But I don't have HD. I am going to try and bundle it with the phone I think and maybe I can get all the equipement and stuff for free. Does stink though that it's all about money. I also wish that you could pick you channels you wanted. (Do we really need 10 shopping channels?:confused2:)

When we lived in the city my water bill was higher than cable and the cable internet.

In a lot of the larger cities around here, they include the sewer on with the water.

I have only water. We dont live anywhere close to the city, but still get the city water. My bill usually runs me around $20 and that is between 3000 and 4000 gallons per month.

I've got DirectTV and a DSL. The local cable company does not have a feed down my road. My road only has about 4 houses in a mile. The nearest cable is on the main road 1/2 mile away. So that is our situation. I am happy with Direcrtv - The only time I have lost the signal was when I hit the dish with a lawnmower.
