Timing Cover on TO30

I'm replacing the governor on a TO30 and I'm trying to get the timing cover off, I don't think its ever been removed and I don't want to miss anything up. I have all the bolts off and I know there are 2 dowels near the the oil pan. Do I just try prying it with something or?

Thick putty knife and some patience.

Have you tried a few sharp raps with a soft faced hammer or piece of hardwood?

I finally got it, just took some time and being carefull.
