Tiny Dump Trailers Sure Trac Utility Dump

I need trailer, but our SUV only tows 5000 lbs, and i need something compact in size to fit in the barn, and its pretty soggy back there.

I will tow yard debris (less than 2000 lbs), some lumber (less than 1000#) , fire wood (only about half a cord) and maybe stone once every 4 years or so to touch up the fire pit area (pretty small)

Does anyone have an opinion on this trailer: Sure-Trac | Utility Dump - Sure-Trac ?

Looks pretty decent for a light dump trailer and the payload is just under a ton. I assume the dump will handle the payload weight
Any idea of the cost?

I壇 be concerned about the panels rather than swinging gate. If anything slides up against the back panel while you drive down the road, you might be up in back, shoveling it out or trying to move all the branches, before you can remove the panel so you can dump the rest. That would keep me from buying this design.

I think I壇 look for a swinging gate version or something else. People always underestimate the importance of gate functionality. I did, and am having to have my gate hinges rebuilt because of damage during the dump, secondary to poor design. This is the reason I知 very cognizant of how trailer gates work.

Look at 5x8’ single axel dump trailers. They can be had around $3500 new, and will be light years better then that.

I had one, prior to my 6x12, weighed about 1200’ empty and had about a 2 ton payload.

Why do dumps come standard with electric brakes? Some manufacturers offer a surge brake option, and negatives to surge brakes for this application?

If I went to 5000 lbs I would need surge brakes since I will be towing with a chevy traverse, and may use my dads toyota 4 runner once in a while,

Mine was bought used from a rental place, Cross Country Manufacturing, with surge brakes

Complexity and cost, is the two main reasons for using the electric brakes over surge.
