Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Tips on using FEL to remove snow

/ Tips on using FEL to remove snow #21
Just wanted to add if you look back in this thread (rus_geek) you'll see this link

TractorByNet.com - Compact Tractor Forum

to a thread that basically advocates for these. Only instead of going through all the time of hand-building them, I just bought 'em. Not the cutting, welding, testing, painting, drill into my bucket kind of guy. One question I have for anyone out there with a BX is if they found a weight box useful for traction in the snow? I don't have one, and we didn't get more than 6-8" at any given time though it was at least once a wet snow, but even with these on my bucket I can only get so far before the traction's just not there. I have R4 tires I filled with I believe with calcium chloride (bought it secondhand). Any thoughts?

I usually set my bucket down and curl it just a few degrees upwards so it doesn't bite into the ground. You can use down pressure or float. Practice makes perfect. I wouldn't bother buying those things. Rolling the bucket a few degrees does the same thing.

I do as you but what we both do is put the wear on the bucket, with these the wear would be on a less expensive, wear part and your bucket would be intact.
