I could use a little more HP/TQ out of my 2300. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for trying to increase the power output.

Thanks, DEWFPO

The nice thing about the 2300 is the 1.1L motor can get full advertised HP at 2600 RPM (less noise). The other brand with a .9L motor has to run 3200 RPM to get advertised HP. What I am getting at is our motors are idling compared to them. The high speed stop is sealed and looks to have a lot more travel and would void any warranty you have. I would think this motor is capable of more power at a higher RPM since it doesn't seem to drop off at full speed. That would be the first thing to try, and cheep compared to changing thing like injectors, pump, motor work, elec. fan instead of engine driven fan, turbo or blower. Removing the muffler and changing the air cleaner is not worth the problems. You could be the Guinea Pig.

Have fun

If the injection system could handle 3500 rpm with a little to no black smoke you would be in the 28-30 HP range. There are a lot of ifs. Dyno time!:D I notice you are in the rockies so more like 23-25 hp

You guys are right. The engine is still building good power right to the stop at 2,600 rpms. Does anyone have a HP/TQ curve for this engine? I'd like to see what part of the curve the engine is on at the above rpm. Makes sense, bumping the rpm up may deliver more power.

I did find the same 1.1L size Iseki motor rated at 24hp@2800 RPM so there is hope for a little extra power. How high are you out there? It would nice to add about 5-7 psi boost to the motor to bring it up to the power we have down here. The turbo off of the Smart Car turbo diesel would be nice:D

I'm at 7,200 feet and need every little pony I can get at this altitude. A Turbo would be great but I haven't had any luck finding one for this engine.

So you are only getting about 16-18 HP up there. I have not found a turbo version of that motor. You would have to fab your own turbo setup. It could be done but it would be a lot of work and money for a one off.

I was hoping that this same engine is used in another application somewhere, where it's turbocharged. But it doesn't sound like it. Maybe just upping the rpm's will help.

I don't think the trany or drive line will handle the eatra power. It is well matched is this point.

Remember he is at 7200 ft. and at the best he is getting 17-18 hp. Turbo normalizing would bring him up to the rated HP and would not put anymore strain on components then being at sea level. I also think the tractor is a very good match but if you derated it to 17 hp you might be thinking differently. He has a good reason for a turbo.
