This might work EBAY#180216026192 It does not have a gearbox to increase the compressor speed so it makes it easier for your purpose. Since there is no room on the fan belt side of the motor. You could mount it over the flywheel at the front of the tractor. The drive would be a belt around the flywheel to increase the speed to the pulley on the compressor. Hose connections to the intake would finish the install. Then change the pulley to get the pressure increase you need. Still a lot of ifs, will it fit, will it make enough pressure at the speed it is turning? Looks interesting.

Doug, that's a very interesting solution. A pulley spun, small volume turbo. I've contacted the seller to see what size engine (on the Seadoo) that turbo was designed for. I need to try to get an output curve for that as well. The seller states it will spin to 8,500 rpm but I need to know the low end output (2,600 rpm).

If I don't produce any more HP than stock at sea level, I probably won't have to change the fuel injection levels at all. These tractors are not adjusted for altitude in any way that I know of. The same amount of fuel is injected. Therefore if I just spin the turbo enough to compensate for altitude, I should be fine....... hmmmmmm

The 8500rpm he is talking about is engine rpm and has gearing in the engine to spin the compressor at a much higher speed. That is why I would run it off the engine fly wheel to get the compressor to a high speed. If you could find out the ratio it spins at would be of more help. I believe the motor size is .9-1.4 L and that is not a big factor since it is motor driven and not exhaust driven. Pulley changes will control pressure.

The seller said the turbo is for a 1.5L, 3 cylinder, 4 stroke, gas engine with a 10.5:1 CR. The turbo can put out 10 psi at 10,000 engine rpm. He didn't have a turbo curve for me.

I prefer superchargers over turbochargers for most applications like this but that pulley driven turbo would be a whole lot easier to plumb into the 2300. Figure out a few brackets, a pulley system to run off the flywheel, and plumb the turbo's output into the 2300's intake. Like I said, if I can keep the output about the same or just a little over stock at sea level,I wouldn't have to mess with the injectors, and I'd be very happy.

Did he say what ratio the compressor turns to the engine rpm? I am sure it is not running 1 to 1 my guess is about 6-8 to 1. I'm afraid you will not be able turn it fast enough to do any good. Also how big is it? It looks to be about 12x8x8 The Roots style blower is a little smaller then the air filter canister and you would over drive it about 2-2.5 to 1, @ 2600 rpm it would run 5200-6500 rpm well below the 15,000 rpm limit. And you would have pressure over the whole RPM range.

Doug,

All good questions that I don't have answers to.
