Can anyone tell me exactly how many gallons of liquid the 20" rear tires on a 3038h will hold. I only need to get protection down to about 20 degrees where I'm located so not a lot of antifreeze will need to be added. Thanks.

Due to the rather large mass of liquid it is the average day/nite temperature that determines whether a tire will freeze at all ... or enuf to matter. If your lo -- nite time temp is 20°F it is not likely you will ever freeze plain water enuf to matter.

This is an excellent question. Has anyone seen a chart, by tire type (R1, R4, turf) by tire size, that show tire volume on a rim? I think standard is to fill to about 75% but total volume would be a great planning tool to make sure you have enough fluid available when filling rears. We used to jack tractor, put valve stem at 12 o'clock and fill to stem level.

yes.. there are tire ballast charts out there. that's why i asked the OP what his tire size was so i coul give him fill volume at 75%

Op here. The tire is 43 16/20. Thought the orig post had enough info. Ended up putting 4 gal on each side with a siphon pump with valve stem at 12 o'clock. Sort of had to guess on the amount of water, did'nt want to over fill and lose any of that $11 a gal antifreeze. Think I'm close to the 11-2 o'clock level position

Search in Google or Bing for ballast tire chart brings up lots of results. Hydro-Flation Table for AG Tires - Rim Guard - Liquid Tire Ballast That chart suggests 38 gallons per tire. Hardly seems worth it to put in 40 pounds of ballast per tire.
