Has anyone put rear tire chains for snow on their JD 3520 with R4,S? There is only 1" or so of clearance on the inside of the tire in the so called narrow position and if you turn the tire as the manual says for wide position you can gain about another 3/4" which is still too close for chains. I asked my dealer if JD has a spacer kit for these wheels and no luck there they do not supply one YET! Thanks for any input on this, Cat Blade

"I ordered the chains from the JD dealer in Plymouth, NH; Hawkensen Equipment.. The Dealer suggested them as: they require minimum clearance; are good on ice; not too heavy; and are easy to install. They are expensive, $455 for a set for 15-19.5 R4 tires. I find them to be as advertised. There is an importer somewhere in SE NH, model is known as Aqua-Line (to the dealer). They are made in Norway:

I have them only on rear. I am getting some basic chains to the front to be used only when I have ice on the steep section of the driveway.

Catblade.......I own a 4300 JD and the same condition exists on the rear tire clearance to the inside. I have reversed my wheels side to side and gained enough clearance to install regular truck tire chains with a rubber band tensioner to keep everything tight. I then tie off the spare chain ends to the rest of the chains.The only contact I ever get to the fender is when a tied end comes loose. Some day I will cut the extra links off and eliminate some of the problem. The chains are great, wouldn't plow without them here, but I sure wouldn't spend $600 smackers for a set.....mine were $50 for the back and $35 for the fronts at a local tire store. Good luck!
