Chains Tire chains ?

I just got a JD 855 from a going out of buisness sale,with a 48" front mount snowblower,curtis cab,tire chains,60"mid mower,and heater all
for, can you believe $2000.00. It has only 585 hrs on it.
Now, my question is, do I need to put the chains on so I can use the snowblower?My driveway has a slight hill on it ?
You would think for $2000.00 it would of come with the doors for the
cab but no. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
I'm going to post a picture of it but the cab and the blower arn't on it.
Let me know what you think.

What kind of tires on the 855? Without a doubt you will gain traction with chains. More than likely you will be fine with a front blower and 4 wheel drive. The blower doesn't require the traction you need to have if you are going to plow. I do a considerable amount of snow blowing, but I have a much larger tractor, L3710 and have not had any traction problems, and I live in snow country and have a steep driveway.

You'll love the fact you only move the snow once and there are no more snowbanks. The need to work with the storm also goes away. When you plow you'd better push it when you have 8" - 12" of accumulation, even if it's still snowing, with the blower, you wait for the storm to end and clear the drive 1 time. If you live in snow country a blower is the way to go! I plowed for 15 years and will never go back.
