Tire chains

I just finished ordering tire chains for my JD 4100. I worked with the people at tirechains.com and found them very helpful and cordial. It was a pleasure to work with them. I had some confusion about exactly which chains I needed for my R4's and if I needed any kind of binders to keep the chains tight on the tires. For those of you with JD 4100's with R4 tires, here's what you need.

I got the Duo-grips for the rear tires and 2-link spacing for the front. That is what they recommended. The total for both sets of chains, binders/adjusters for the front and back, and shipping and handling will be $285.43. Additionally, I should have the mechandise tommorrow. Now, that's service. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

To put that in perspective, I stopped at a local chain supplier last week and was quoted ~$290 for Duo-grips for just the REAR tires. And, that did not include tax!!! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

If you need chains, I would highly recommend this company.

I was pleased by their service as well. Unfortunately, DuoGrips were not available for my size rear tires. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

No. The reason being is that I didn't have to pay PA sales tax. I considered having them shipped to my in-laws but it would have cost more money!!! So, I just had them shipped to me and not having to have my in-laws move a couple hundred pounds of chains around. Points for me!!!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif The UPS driver will hate me though..../w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
