how does loading a tire with water affect tire pressure requirements?
do you fill the remaining 20% not filled with water to the factory specs for air pressure or is there some adjustment due to the water? thanks.

Yes. Getting liquid in a regular tire gauge will greatly shorten its life, but you can buy air/liquid gauges that look about the same and cost about the same. And of course 75-80% liquid is the maximum you should use.

Yes, you fill the remaining portion of the tire to the normal tire preasure.

Dang...Bird and DieselPower jumped all over this one...if you guys could solve my tire PSI problem, I'd be much obliged.

Can't remember where I saw this but I believe you reduce the air presure by 1/2 to 3/4 psi for every foot of liquid that is in the tire. So when measured from the ground up you have 3 feet of liquid in your tire then reduce the recommended tire pressure by 1 1/2 to 2 1/4 psi.

I will try to find this information again unless someone can confirm it.

My L2800 has loaded rears, and I am only running 8 psi in them. I believe the manual says 20 psi for empty rears. I started out at 20psi with them loaded, but they were just way too hard. I backed it down to about 10 and I still can't see any give in the sidewall when I raise a 500 lb box blade with the 3 pt hitch. I backed it down to 8 psi and that is where I could see a very, very slight give on the sidewall when I tried bouncing the box blade up and down. So, I'm leaving mine at 8 psi. It rides smoother and gets better traction (R4s). I think you need to back the pressure down once you put fluid in them. My dad is a lifetime farmer and that's what he told me, so I just figured he knew what he was talking about.
