Just checking my rear tires on the tractor today. They don’t look particularly low… But I’m only reading 1 pound on each of the tires. They are filled with calcium. So I’m questioning whether or not my gauge is working properly, though two gauges showed the same thing. Not too familiar with calcium tires… Do you add air pressure the same way you always would? I just don’t want to fill them to a catastrophic blowing point. They just don’t look that flat to me.

Not a clue as I quit using CACL long ago. CACL is corrosive and will kill any plants it contacts.

Agree don’t look under inflated in that picture. We ran similar pressure with fluid vs without. I would suspect 12 - 15 PSI for a tire that size depending on load it is carrying.

with stem at 12 o-clock try blowing a little air to see if possible core was sticking or plugged.

Napa or Milton Brands are the best quality & makes a springloaded air gauge specifically for fluid filled.

I wouldn’t dare use calcium chloride liquid as it Will ABSOLUTELY DESTROY steel wheels.

I’ve filled numerous tractors frt AND rear tires with 25% antifreeze & water.

Not a clue as to why your gauge is reading 1 psi as that tire clearly has more then 1 psi in it.
Is it possible your gauge is reading in bar? ! bar is equal to about 14.5 psi.

As far as using calcium in a tire, yes it is corrosive but they will hold up for many years especially if you never have a leak :ROFLMAO: I was never that lucky but the rims still lasted several years and then it was usually thevalve stem hole that rotted out first.

Many tons of Calcium Chloride is spread on roads for dust control and to melt ice. In tractor wheels it can provide years of trouble free service.

You could get lucky getting years of trouble free service BUT your steel wheels will be ate slam up with RUST.
I AVOID that stuff at all cost & I have 16 tires on the farm that is fluid filled.

Tires I have on my New Holland are filled with methanol and water mix. Lose some weight but non- corrosive on wheels. Had a 53 Super A on farm that had a leak in tube. Calcium eat the wheel and tube started protruding through wheel. Had to weld steel plates on wheel when we put new tires on. Beet juice is non-corrosive on wheels also I am told

Most everyone believes Michelin Tire Company about air pressure.
I run 18psi in fluid-filled rears, which is a bit much for field work IMO. Many run 12psi for field work, but it depends upon your tractor weight, tire weight capacity, and implement weight on 3-pt hitch.

EDIT: I checked my R1 Goodyears today. I was wrong, the man that put the WW fluid in them set my air pressure to 12psi.
Hum, the tires still have no bulge in the sidewalls.

Mine will seep water / AF mix between rim & tire sometimes IF below 20psi

I run front & rear fluid filled on all 3 of my JD tractors for traction on my steep banks & hills.

Makes a world of difference too in chicken houses running the caking machine.

Better steering response too with a heavy 3pt implement attached.

Mine are around 15 psi or lower in the rear, a bit higher in the fronts and tire max in the fronts when doing a lot of loader work.

Both my tractors are filled with CC front and rear. When I check pressures even with the Schrader at 12 o'clock and purge the stem of liquid (if it even still works) I get some liquid in the tire gauge which ruins them. So I watch for them on sale and buy a handful of the extending stem tools when cheap. Then I check them against a non-filled tire with a known good gauge (low pressure with a round face gauge) to see if each one is reasonably trustworthy. After checking all the filled tires since I have the hose out anyway I throw the stem gauge in the trash because after it sits it will not be trustworthy for the next time.
