I need some help to figure out what the 31.6x16 means on my turfs on the L3200.

The reason I ask is that I am tryingto get some chains that fit.

Is this an 'inches or metric" number.

Has anybody chained the rears on an L3200 or L3800???

Thanks for the help and enlightenment !

Cheers,

RD

31.6 is the width in inches, 16 is the rim diameter in inches.

To get the overall height you need the aspect ratio which isn't given on most standard tires. If the aspect ratio was 75 then you could compute the tire diameter by 31.6x.75= 23.7". Multiply that by two and add to the rim diameter to get the overall diameter, in this example it would be 63.4" which is probably taller than what you really have. Being a turf tire the aspect ratio could even be as low as 50% (which would give a tire about 48" tall.) The other way to do it is take your tire size and go to the manufacturers website and look up the tire dimensions.

Someone somewhere transposed some numbers. Kubota's website says 13.6x16. Where as 13.6 is the width and 16 is the rim size in inches.

Yup, I thought that sounded like an awfully big turf tire for a L3200.

To the OP, 13.6x16 is the only number you'll need to buy tire chains. Just find a set that is listed for that size.
