I need some advice on what tire sealant to use, I have a slow leak on one of my front tires, I have been told that amerseal is the best one to use , does not void warranty on tires and they can be repaired later if need be. Does anyone know of a better product that may work as well or better?

a tube, it is not that big of a chore to install a tube on front tires, rear tires can be more of a hassle.

normally the small front tractor tires can be removed and taken to any tire/automotive store that deals with tires, and get a tube installed. rear tires can be a different story.

i prefer tubes in all tires, from filling tires with fluid for ballast, to not having to deal with air leaks between tire and rim, to simply seating the bead back onto rim if i do get a flat. tubes can be some what of a hassle but *shrugs* tubes seem to work better for me. more so when i get a thorn in tire, i can pull tire off, tube out, put some air in tube and with a little soap and water, can pin point leak on tube, and then line things up for good close inspection on tire to find were thorn is.

i use the green goop or what ever it is called, menard carries. wanted for a sale and picked some up. it seems to have worked on some thorns i have picked up already.

I think I may have tried every one of the brands made, and I'll not waste my money any of them again. About all they do is make a bigger mess for you to clean up when you realize you're going to have to put a tube in, or replace the tire.

Thanks for the advice, I am not really crazy about slime, dealer is the one who recommended the amerseal, said it was washes away with water , does not eat up tire or rim....... so I don't know, I don't think a tube is the way to go either, living in AZ there is cactus everywhere, I would be patching tubes every other week.:mur: May look into foam fill....

When Slime first came out, it seemed to work fairly well. But as of about 6-7 years ago the Slime hasn't work for me all all. I can see moisture where the hole is, but it doesn't seal. I am talking about having cleaned the inside of the tire out first & install 10-15% more than recommended of new Slime. There are different formulas: Tubeless, tubed, & universal. None seem to work for me.

A friend who owns a large tire store does recommend Amerseal But I have given up up on sealants & just keep plenty of plugs on hand. Much faster than having to remove a tire, break it down, repair tube then reverse the steps.

I have had good success using Fix a flat. It cleans up with water should you have to dismount the tire from the rim.
You mentioned you don't want to void the warranty. Doesn't the warranty cover a flat tire caused by a leak.

Tried slime....failed for me.
Got all the stuff to do plugs...works for me.
When plugs no longer work, it's time for a new tire because the hole is too big.

I have never had any luck with sealants. And as Bird says if you ever gave to break a tire down to put in a tube or fix a bead leak these sealants are a true mess inside a tire to work with.
