Mike,

I used the Pump this weekend worked great. I took the Valve Core out , jacked the Tractor up, lowered pressure to 5 PSI, noticed that the AGs looked like they may relax and come off the rim. So I kept a little pressure in the tire. On the 24 1/2 pump, the pump stopped. I thought great something just happened to the BORROWED pump, so I pulled up to get a full stroke and pushed again, nothing it didn't budge. Pulled the fitting of the Valve Stem """SPLAT""" Multi-Seal all up my arm, chest, neck. From that little pressure that I had put on the Fill hose once it clogged, it was a jet of Multi-seal out of the hose, against the Rim and right back at me. This was on the Back Tire, So I removed the valve stem that threads into the larger Stem. Air starts flowing, look in the stem. Multi-Seal did what it claims ( Seals large punctures and holes) A small piece of the Black ground up rubber had lodged in the Stem then the fine fibers had filled in around that.

After clearing the Stem, I looked back at the Tire , It had relaxed off the Rim, GREAT, pulled out the Air Compressor gave it a shot of air NOTHING , just a hissing as the air came out as quick as it went in.

By now the Tractor and Tire that was in the Shade an hour ago when I started the process is now starting to get a little of a Sun Tan. So I grabbed the Ratchet strap and tried "Spreading" the tire to get it back tight against the Rim. 30 minutes later , still hissing. It is HOTTT about now, so head to the house, grab lunch and refreshments. AC feels really good, maybe the Tire setting in the sun for and hour or so will do it some good, "Make it more flexible " , so after an Hour and a Half nap, back out there . Still no Luck.

Read all warnings and make sure Multi-Seal is not Flammable. I revert to the Ether method, Quick Spray around the Rim, one match later, "WHOOF, POP" and the Tire is Set , put valve core in and air tire up.

Job Done.

Good story, glad everything finally came together for you. My Multi-Seal went in without a hitch, does that mean I'm blessed? Come to think about it whenever I do something stupid around here my wife does say god bless it! :D

Mike,

Check your PM, I want to verify the Return Address, for the Pump. It is Clean and oiled with 30 Weight. I did not have any Synthetic so I hope Conventional Dino oil is OK.

Thanks for the Use of the Pump, Let me know if there is anything I could do to return the Favor. Will be glad to.

Hey Deer hunter.Glad you got it fixed. Could you describe the either mounting procedure abit more. I saw it on TV once on a Tundra Bus . But Didn't think it was something Id want to try without some info.
Is there just one flash of flames? and how long a time do you have once you start the spray around the rim?

The Smaller the tire the more exacting you have to be with the amount of Ether. But for the most part if the tire is small then you can usaully set the bead using a normal Air Compressor.

Ether is used as a last resort, you CAN BLOW:eek:  up a tire if you use too much.

Remove Valve Core. I try to get one side of the tire set / Pressed on the Rim, press the other side away from the Rim, Then Spray aprox 1/2 to 3/4 around rim up into Tire Carcass, a little spray on the side of tire and a trail about 6 feet from the tire. Another person there with a Lighter or Match, the minute you get through spraying , they light the trail.

You should hear a whoof and Snap/pop , (the tire setting against the rim). Have air hose ready , immeidiatley after tire has set on rim, you must start pumping air in. If it is a Large tire and you have sprayed more ether than needed the ether will continue burning the Oxygen from inside the Tire. Reversing what you just accomplished, It Will SUCK the tire back off the rim. Air hose and pumping air fast will keep this from happening.

Ether is the LAST RESORT, it is NOT safe , and may catch things on fire.

Thanks. and I understand the disclaimer.I am lucky I haven't had to use that method. I have an inflatable bead sealer. But it wouldn't work for a tractor tire. But then I use tubes so its never been a problem.
Thanks for the explanation I did a search and found almost exactly what you described. but they only went 5 feet. not six.I guess they were a little bit more cheap with the either. LOL
Safety first.
