Tires Tire valve - what is this?

yes need to add some. I do 12 o'clock check and blow in some air first. But usually it starts leaking air and spitting fluid. So I just expect to change the core every time. Keep some cores on hand always.

I don't have anything to add to the already good advice you have been given, therefor I won't add anything. :) .....Ok, I am a little bored, so I typed this.

James, could you go into a little more detail on that please.

yeah, it's early

Adding some pictures would be helpful too.

mred2 - yes, your granddaddy had steel wheels. He probably had to have spinal surgery and ended up with ruptured kidneys. There is an OLD tractor north of me - decorating a neighbors front yard. It has steel wheels, heavy steel spokes & steel chevrons - all the way around. I keep meaning to stop and get the background & pics on this tractor. CV-19 has, sort of, delayed this adventure.

And we think some of our subcompact/compact tractors ride roughly - ha, ha.................

CobyRupert - your picture looks EXACTLY like what I have on the rear tires on my M6040. Core inside an insert, insert inside the main body. I would guess it has to do with adding fluid ballast to the rear tires - ??? I have RimGuard in my rear tires.
View attachment 665370. And so why did I attach a pic of my Chocolate Cocker Spaniel puppy - Brownie? Brownie is a whole lot cutter than my pic of the rear tire on my tractor. You can't really see the valve stem on the picture of rear tire.

Around here the Amish use new tractors with steel wheels. I haven't figured the logic in that yet.

It's their belief system; they are hard workers and have a serious work ethic (ethos). Pneumatic tires are built for human comfort, therefore steel wheels are just fine. They have joined the 20th century by using motor driven ag equipment or PTO motors, BUT they still use horse teams to pull them. Have you seen the horse team-drawn hay baler video?

Those men can steer a team of horses better than some guys can steer a tractor.

Horses have an Auto Drive feature. Climb in the buggy at the bar and wake up back home!

I think straight calcium in tires will corrode valve cores in few years, using Beetjuce or Ballast Star is better, better option would be wheel wights, even better option is 50+ hp tractor.
