After getting tired of slipping and sliding for the last time, I ordered a set of rear chains for my JD 4210 on Sat 12/19. Checking the status from UPS, looks like they will be delivered today or tomorrow! Just in time to watch the 20+" of snow melt. Ah well, at least I will be ready for the next snow fall.

I had debated with myself weither or not I really needed the chains, the cost, what sites to order from, etc, etc. After one too many pucker moments on saturday, I decided enough was enough, so I bit the bullet and ordered them. I'll post some pics after I get them installed.

I agree, fortunately for me they are located nearby. FWIW, my employer is an ag equipment dealer. Tirechain.com's retail prices are better than what we could buy at wholesale.
Just a little advice. Look at the installation instructions before you attempt to put them on. It will likely save you time & much agrivation

Thanks for the heads up. I watched the install video when I ordered them, seems pretty logical. I'll probably jack up one wheel at a time and do it that way. I also plan on using the black rubber bungee straps as tensioners. They seem to work pretty well on the front.

Ditto. I also got tired of spinning with my JD GX345 garden tractor so I ordered a set of chains on-line on Sunday and they arrived at my door step today. The pricing and the service was top notch.

I also have a JD 3320 but at this point I don't have any plans for ordering chains for that as that does pretty well with the 4wd and my property is not very hilly.

I ordered chains for my car and Polaris Ranger Saturday from Tirechain.com and they were delivered today. Everything looks good. I even got an email today confirming the delivery.

I would definitely recommend them. -Keith

Here are a couple of pics with the chains installed. Man, they are heavy!!!! There's a little gap where I had to trim the links, but I'm very happy with the results. I expect they will help quite a bit. :D

I had chains on my old TC 30 from Tirechains.com and they worked great. The snow storm from last week really made me nervous. I live about a mile up an incline off the main road and my TC 40 with R4s had a time dealing with the heavy packing snow that we got. I clear about 2 miles of gravel road in our homeowners association. I almost slid off a neighbors drive last week. I called the president and he told me to order chains for my tractor as I don't charge anyone for snow removal. The association purchased chains for my tractor. I ordered them on Sunday night and they arrived on Wednesday at work. Yep! 140lbs of chains just in time for Christmas. I haven't installed them yet and we are supposed to get some ice for Christmas Morning.

Up here in New Hampshire the chains go in in late November and don't come off until April....

The V-Bar chairs from tirechains.com make my little CK20HST a tank on packed snow and ice. Now i don't worry about how "slick" my hill is. The nice thing is that with the chains, I can keep the blower down and blow snow going up the driveway as well. Cut my time in half.

Happy Holidays to all

This thread confirms my suspicions about tirechains.com and their less than honest tactices. In direct response to my recent post inquiring if others had negative experiences with their customer service, it appears that tirechains.com has set up a few "satisfied customers" with this thinly veiled promotion of their products. Come on, guys. It's easy to see right through it.

LOL One dissatisfied customer (usually) doesnt reflect on an entire company. Sorry you had a bad experience. As you can see from my experience and others here, they seem to be a good outfit. Hope you get your situation squared away with them.

Yup... all depends on your personal experience.

I bought a couple sets from Vulcantire and when they sent the tensioners for free I was impressed ....... along with the cheaper shipping charge .

You go back to where you were satisfied.

That's a rather absurd claim to make. Your personal negative experience understandably sets a bias for you. I think your story constitutes a snapshot in time which may not be representative of "the big picture".

Years ago I priced them, but the shipping was a killer. I bought chains locally for less. For folks in upstate NY, you cannot beat LJ Hands Farm store in Fultonville for tire chains. It's worth the trip.

That is some wild and ridiculous claim to make.
I got chains (front and rear) for my tractor from Tirechains a couple years ago.
Nice chains, very fast shipping, good price.
If you choose to believe it thats Fine. If you choose not to believe it thats Fine.
But spare us with the conspiracy theories.

"me thinks thou dost protest to much"
Sorry to hear about one bad experience, but they do seem to have pretty good prices. I haven't heard of anyone else complaining SO LOUD. Hmm could be a competitor losing business? I dont have chains (yet), but figure if/when I get them It'll be from tirechains.com. If the tension springs stretch then I would just suck it up and go get some bungy cord like most people are using. Maybe these are chinese springs, but let face it very few things are from America and it doesn't look like thats going to change soon. Heck it look like China is going to purchase Volvo. How ironic. LOL

Hmmm, maybe your a "dissatisfied customer" planted by tirechains.com competition.....

I read your post after I had placed my order and i was concerned. My experience was top notch and I am happy with the product, sorry yours wasn't.
