Tired of kinking water hose/garden hose

What is the best type of garden hose, hosepipe, water hose, hose (or what it is called in your area) to use? I want to replace several feet and want something that will not kink. Some is advertised as such, but I want to be sure and get the right thing. We tried one of these "fit in your hand, expanding" type and it was a waste.

What do you recommend?

I use 50' rubber garden hose made by Gates. I have 2 so can connect together if needed. They coil up nice when not in use. Never had them kink going on 10 years now. 50'ers are easier to handle than 100'.

I usually go to the local Home Depot and get the heaviest duty Industrial/Commercial hose they have. The ones where the ends are machined brass that you can run over with your truck and they will not get squashed. They are either black or dull red and will last like a mother-in-law's curse.

The quality of hose is something that is usually apparent to a consumer before you buy. If it is heavy, and costly, it will take a lot of hard use and hold up. If it is light and flimsy, it is not going last, no matter how much you pay for it. If it is advertised as some kind of new "wonder material", keep your money in your pocket.

Another vote for commercial hose, I've had three of them for more years than I can remember, they're tough and durable and don't kink. Downside is that they are kinda/sorta expensive and pretty heavy (compared to a regular hose), but unless you run over them with a lawnmower, they'll stay with you

I've done real well with the Craftsman lifetime warranty black hose...

I bought one in 1976 for my Dad on Father's day and he never had to buy a hose again...

I do think the newer version is not as kink free as the older ones... still a good value and often on sale...

I think the rubber type hose will be the closest to what you are looking for... Every Saturday, I would wash the 60 or so cars on the used car lot with a hose made for chemical spray rigs... really, really heavy and it cost a lot back then... never had a problem as long as I was there... dragging it around the pavement and have vehicles drive over it all day...

Second on the Craftsman from Sears. Kink free and virtually indestructible. Only thing is your hands get a little black.

I use a kink free hose from Walmart. Pricey. But have found the ones with a different color strip on three sides are the best. I have 3 or 4 hundred feet of them. Next best is a black professional hose from there. But it kinks and will bust if moved when frozen. The kink free hose will let you work out ice jams if not froze hard. Just be careful how far you bend it or it will start to kink there.

I'm using the Gilmour Flexogen hoses. I have two 50' hoses and one 75' hose, each on its own hose reel and left outside in the weather year round. They supposedly have a lifetime warranty (which I've had no reason to use since they're only a bit over 2 years old) and they definitely resist kinking. The only negative thing I could say about them is that they're heavy.

Also need to mention I am in a part of California where freeze is rare and when it does happen it is only a few hours...

I bought a hose from Lowes last summer 100 ft. kink free hose. Don't remember the price, but I haven't had any problems with it kinking
