Here is a photo of my dad's old Ferguson model 20 that three boys didn't manage to destroy...but we sure made it look tired./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. It still runs and belongs to my oldest brother.

Jim, tired? Fergies don't gert tired, they get better!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif That's my tractor. I've got a 1951 Ferguson TO-20, just like that. I use it for everything, it works great, and NEVER let's me down. It's a fantastic tractor!

Thanks for the picture!

Been there, I started out in the late 80's with a fergie te20 and sold it to get a to30 and kept that one for 7 years till I traded it for the first new holland. that 30 was a great tractor, I used it for everything.I do wish I had kept it and restored it instead of trading it in.

Kevin, my uncle bought a 30 and had it until he passed away about three years ago. I mentioned that my older brother has the TO-20, but I have another brother with a TO-30. Those old Fergusons were well made and still very good tractors today...no matter what they look like.

These tractors are proof that innovation is often driven by competition. The TO-20 was so good that it dove Ford to start building better tractors than the 8N... Of course the lawsuit that Harry Ferguson won also had a little to do with it too./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Before I got my TO-20, I was planning on getting a TC29. Then one of our trucks broke down, and we got a new Silverado. We didn't have enough money for 2 loans, so we searched for used tractors. Modern used tractors are almost as expensive as new, so after alot of research I found the TO-20. I'm glad I got it, it was an incredible bargin for what it can do and the conditon it's in.
Now that I'm getting into some real farming, I'd like another tractor in the 60 horsepower range, and you can bet I won't buy new again. I couldn't afford it, but I know I can find a vintage tractor that can do what I need in the right price range. For me, it's the way to go. And I'll still keep my Fergie for small jobs. I'll have two tractors for way less than the TC29 would have cost me! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gifAnd I can keep an implement on one and put a different one on the other. I won't have to keep humping implements on and off as much either!
Hopefully this spring I'll be tractor shopping again!

I have a little question for You "Fergie experienced" folks out there....did the TO 30 come with a 3 point hitch (standard or optional)? and a rear PTO, I see one in the paper, and wouldn't mind having a 2nd tractor for dirt work (AG tires), if it had the right stuff. Even though it is not green it would be a good little addition/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. Also if it does have a 3PH is it cat1? thanks for any info!!
