Hello to all,

Have a 2014 F-150 XLT w 109,000 miles. I need to get some new ties, but will probably be selling it or trading it in the next 60-120 days. Therefore, I am not going to top of the line but do not want to put junk tires on it either. I drive 75% highway 23% city and 2% at the ranch. Probably had the trailer n the truck 3-4 times in 7-8 yrs. With these spec's, what would be a good tire but not break the bank, and your reason(s) why? Tire size is 265/60R18, 2-WD

thank you,
tstex

If you intend to trade the truck in within the next few months I would just get the cheapest your local tire store has or can get.

I run Michelin Defender LTX M/S for the same truck, just 4X4 and usually has a trailer connected.

Ask a Dealer if they have any "Take Offs" Tires from New Vehicles, that get traded in for a different brand or a Lift Kit installed.

Look on Craigslist; I’ve purchased tires with excellent tread left for very cheap.

My 2020 F150 XLT came with Good Year Wrangler Fortitude's. They are P rated and not the real aggressive off road Wranglers. Think I will buy them again when the time comes. They have a nice soft ride, As good of winter traction as my studded winters and my recent Toyo Open Country winters. And they seem to be wearing nice and even and I run 140 KM of gravel and rock bush road every week. And haven't had a stone drill flat yet. Only one flat due to a piece of metal.
The factory P rated work fine for me because I only ever tow around 6000 pounds.

2wd and mainly highway and hardly any towing: Pretty well any P metric tire that is new or nearly new will work. In this case I'd shop for the deal on price and not the tire brand. See what is used and slap the on.

Tires are crazy expensive now and I agree with finding either take offs or used tires. I just put a used set of Michelin LTX Defenders on my summer rims for a fraction of new price.

Sure that's the correct size it was born with? 275-65-18 is what most 2009 and newer F-150s came with. Check build or tread act sticker in driver's door to verify. 275-65-18 is a very common size which makes them less expensive new and easier to find used.
