I looked at my forthcoming 4720 and turning the tires hard right and the right tire (R4) hits the hydraulic lines quick connects for the loader. This was on flat ground. The dealer was shocked it happened. It is worse on uneven ground when the right tire is higher then the left tire. The dealer was going to try to "dish out" the front tires to correct this. He also was going to e mail the engineers in Augusta.
Is this a design flaw? The quick connects on my NH were about 6' higher on the frame.

Yikes!!!

Good that you caught that there...

The lines may actually be bent, lowering the whole assembly...

A pic would help.

Is the tire hitting the flexible hyd hoses going to the FEL, or the connectors themselves in the 'cluster'? Not sure if tires are hitting without the FEL attached, or attached.

If hitting the hyd lines (rubber hoses) then I suspect the dealer needs to fine tune the connections where the hyd hoses connect to the steel hyd. lines along the FEL beam. They can be 'twisted' to lay tighter to the tractor frame, at least on the older 4000 series. If poor set-up by the dealer technician, the right wheel can rub against them.

Just a thought. This may not even be close to the problem you have presented.

The tire is hitting the conectors in the cluster not the lines. When it hit them I did not move for fear the lugs would grab the connector. Loader was on the tractor.
The cluster seems like it needs to be raised 2-3", but it is hard plumbed, so that will not be easy. My welder was there trying to build a skid plate and he said he could box it in but the tire would hit the box. I hope the tires are on inside out?

I understand now. The 'title' indicated the loader lines, but the message indicated the connectors.

I turned my tires on my 4300 to widen the stance on the front axle. I gained some inches, but didn't need any extra help to avoid the hyd. lines.

Hope your dealer gets the fix right for you. Seems this would be a problem with all the 4x20's that will need a fix, unless there is something to do with certain tire sizes.

Sorry about the title- it is the connectors.
Tires are the only R4 size available. I thought the problem would be universal to every 4X20 with a loader. Salesman said he has never seen it prior to mine ( just my luck). It did look like the front track was narrower then the rear one. At least 1-2" per side- is that common?

My 4720 right front wheel is hitting the caps that hang down fro the service valve, but I do not believe they are hitting the actual lines. Did you get your problem resolved?

I had a similar thing happen last winter when the mud was froze on the inside of the wheels on my JD 4400....John Deere did not leave much room for error. I have to keep a close eye on the hoses, they will rub on the tires if I they are not properly secured to the loader.

On my new 4120 (with 10-16.5 R4 fronts) , the tire could hit the rubber protective covers for the cluster, but not the lines or the couplers themselves. Wrapping the protective caps around the flex lines eliminated that problem. Clearance between tire and couplers is about 3 inches at full right lock. The cluster bracket is designed to keep that clearance. FEL flex lines, running inside their mesh loom, are captured inside the right side of the hood, so they aren't in harm's way.

Perhaps JD has now made a cluster bracket change to eliminate your problem, and that's why mine is OK?

They flipped the tires out and they do not hit but it is still very close. I am afraid the tires will pick up a stick in the lugs and break my lines. Am trying to get the dealer to add a full length skid plate and a shield for the plugs too.

Today is 90 days since I order it and so the ares till putting it togeather. Can not get parts like the electric converter.
