Had R4 s on my B2601 and my L3560 just delivered with the same tire. Since I normally operate on turf or roads and not in fields, woods etc I’m thinking of moving to turf tires for a smoother ride and less damage to turf .... comments

Go ahead. You won't have regrets. Turfs would be my first choice. I personally don't understand why most of the CUTs come with R4s.
It's a very much discussed topic here.

If you have a Loader on the L3560, especially the optional LA805 Loader, R4/industrial tires provide much more tire support under the Loader through 6-ply R4 construction relative to 4-ply construction of turf tires.

I operate my L3560 with LA805 Loader in 2-WD over residential lawns several days per week without turf damage. Sandy loam in Florida.

  • I spend quite a bit of time "pushing up" a burning community burn pile.
  • Mowing with a Rotary Cutter your tractor will find all kinds of puncture trash.
  • Six-ply construction is 50% tougher than four-ply construction.

My L3560, of which I took delivery in January 2013, came with ten-ply (10) front R4/industrial tires as standard equipment. Check yours.

I’ve never found the R4’s on my BX doing damage to turf. Even in wet, they are pretty easy on things. No matter what tire you choose, if you drive over the same place, over and over, in a short period of time, it’s going to chew the grass. Worse, if you’re moving a lot, with the loader.

I like the best ride also.
Both my units have turfs.
Those new R14 tires look like a great combination of loader capacity, traction, and ride.
But they were like $600 or $800 more on my new L2501-even more over R-1 tires.
I settled for turfs again-good in snow, although I don't have snow duties in mind for it.
Good Luck!

Jeff, I had the dealer add this product to the rear ballast when I ordered my tractor. I have a lot of Black Locust trees, you'd be surprised to see what those thorns will penetrate.

After having a few problems with 4 ply turfs I replaced them with a 6 ply set of turfs. End of problems and I don't have to deal with the harsh ride of R-4's. R-4's have their place but not on my tractor.
