Titan 6 ft. Backhoe

   / Titan 6 ft. Backhoe #11
Just an FYI, I got bucket and dipperstick forces for the BK215 from Titan. (They sent me the manual) Bucket force 2592lbs, dipperstick force 1975lbs. Lowest of the hoes I have data on. (Titan, are you listening? The BH looks structurally sound, get the supplier to use slightly larger cylinders and get these numbers up!)

I have a spreadsheet of backhoe choices, and the BK215 is actually a couple hundred pounds lower for both forces than the FHM backhoe, commonly available on Ebay. I suppose the dipperstick numbers don't vary by a whole lot, but bucket forces range quite a bit.

Also worth noting that the Branson backhoe is made by Ansung, and very likely just painted different. Branson must be using slightly more pressure to it, or measuring differently. I included it because that's the hoe I could get locally...

It appears to me that bang for the buck, Woodmaxx is probably a good choice. Their price does include the pump and tank, so if they come out with a version that runs off the tractor, it should be cheaper...

Thank you !! Very informative. I'm currently looking for people's experience with these type of backhoes and hopefully more actual users will come out of the woodwork with opinions.

FWIW, I ended up finding an even better option, at least for me... I found a used Bradco 609, originally set up for a New Holland skid steer. I paid 2500 for the BH, unbolted the NH mounts, and made a 4-point mounting subframe based on Bradco's design for other tractors.

You can actually buy mounts from Bradco for a lot of tractors, just not mine... All Bradco BH's use a similar mounting pattern, so they pretty much all interchange.

The 509/609/511/611 backhoe series are really strong compared to CUT BH's from anyone else... if you have a 40hp+ tractor, I believe they work out well. Mine has a 24" bucket, and it will pluck out a full scoop of wet clay no problem.

I was told it would be slow, but it isn't. My tractor is rated at 11.5gpm, but I only run it at about 1500RPM when using the BH. Faster than that is difficult to control, and generally too fast. I'd imagine that most tractors would need to run closer to 2000RPM to get the same speed, but most newer tractors need to run that fast anyway.

I made a thread about it here... http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/build-yourself/373738-4pt-mount-bradco-609-mf.html

Awesome. I'm heading out to see the new tractor models and compare how I feel in them. I'll be buying today or tomorrow but have time to buy the BH so when I get back I'll check out your link. Thanks !

Is Titan still in business?
Late last night I googled "backhoe attachments" and found a Titan ad for a BK215 with a sale price of $3169.00.
This morning when I looked at ad again to call about it the price went up to $3669.00.
I tried to call all day to get more info and all I got was voice mail.
I sent an email, got response- will reply shortly but never heard from them.
Was that an inventory close out sale and they were all gone???
