2009 Kubota RTV 900, 2009 Kubota B26 TLB & 2010 model LS P7010
I am in the initial searches for a TLB and hadnt really considered an LS till now. My dealer doesnt have any (at least the last time I was there) and I have been looking at other brands Kubota, MF, and Kioti mostly. I weeded ou the MF since they dont really have anything other than SCUT models below 30 HP. I am looking for something similar to the Kubota B21 or B26, Kioti CK 20HST or CK27 at the largest. I have managed to get a price on a CK20(dont know if he quoted HST or gear model but the quote was for $21,250 without any promotions. I know the website lists $2500 rebate for Cash so that might put it to $18,750 and hopefully I can get at least the 750 knocked off. I havent gotten any quotes from Kubota which has the most dealerships in my area but used prices are in the neighborhood for new Kioti. I saw a used B26 for $26K and it was 8 years old with 1500 hours so I have pretty much forgot about used Kubotas.
I am looking for anyone here who may have either bought or prices a small TLB from LS. The back hoes in the photo like almost like the Kubota B26 models with almost identical specs. I dont know who makes them for LS but the must be same design if not same mfg.

Looking for some dollar comparisons here for any brand if you guys have something recently in the 20-30HP size.

Just looked on Equipment trader for used kubotas and this is what they have. Lot of tractors like I am looking for but darn, look at the prices and the hours ie first one 1294 hours, 2006 model, $22500 and the BX models which I consider lawnmowers with backhoes attached for $14-almost 17K. I know you guys with BX models flame away with bragging rites about how much work they will do a shovel full at a time. Anyway, looking for some help and info to help me make up my mind. I might consider LS if price is really good, but my dealer is not up to par for what I think he should be. All work has to be done in his shop as he has no field truck which I didnt know when I bought from him. Anyway, waiting on some info and it doesnt have to be about LS although I would like to know what G or R 3030 with a loader and backhoe has sold for or priced out for.

I do not know what you are going to do with it but I own a Kubota B21 and I am very pleased with it. I bought it used a couple states away on craigslist. If I were to do it again I would buy a Kubota B26. Nicer machine. If you want a bigger machine look at a Kubota L39.

I have a S3010 TLB So far the back hoe works good. Dug an old back fill out like butter. I tested digging in the chink rock around here I could get the football size out about 17" deep then I hit larger rock and could not find an edge and called it a day on the test. The controls are very responsive, speed I would say just right, the swing a little fast but controllable. The seat needs suspension when digging in hard pack a back breaker. I'm thinking of a motorcycle air seat for the back hoe. First experience with a back hoe. But have a lot of hi-lift, clamper and slipper experience. A well built hoe for a small tractor.

My B26 is still available.... Carl_NH is interested but we haven't made a deal yet... sounds like it's very close to your price range and not nearly as far from you as it is to Carl. :)

My G3033 TLB was purchased in Oct 2011 price was just a tad over 20,000.
I use the loader alot and a 6' finish mower. So far I've only used the BH to dig a hole to bury my dog,but have some plans for digging this summer.

Hello MissingsTexas,

Yes my B21 is for sale and working hard to move it! I would love to get your B26 on the other hand I agree your machine is the perfect unit for Gary and only 350 mi away.

If my B21 with 430 hrs doesnt move this month I will just keep it but I am working hard to sell to get your B26 .

Carl

When I started looking for a backhoe, I was looking at those around $12K but was willing to go to $15. NOW it looks like to get a decent machine without a couple thousand hours on them I will have to get to the 18-20 K. Now I am looking at almost new prices for maybe not a B26, but I think I might could get a B 2920 TLB for about that price.
Missing Texas, send me a PM with your location and let me know where I can find your ad in Craigslist.
As I have said before, I would not be home till June 1 so all these tractors might be sold before I get home. I am putting out inquiries to all the dealers around my area for pricing. That LS 4041 TLB would have to be a very good price for me to buy it since it is a gear model . I really wasnt looking at that big of a tractor when I started. I still think the CK 20 or CK27 would be more than enough but that is going to be 18k or more so I may have to go back to searching and hope someone decides to sell at a reasonable price before I decide to buy new.

CarlNH, I think I see your problem with selling your Kubota. I just looked it up on CL, nice clean rig by the way. It looks like every person in N.H. is trying to sell their Kubota tractors and about 6 TLB listed and they are all close to your ad. I sent you a message via Craigslist on some suggestions to make your ad stand out more. I definitely needs to be reposted to put it near the top of the list again as it is now near the bottom of the first page. It looks like your machine has several pricey options like a 16" bucket (12" std), thumb, bolt on cutting edge, heavy duty FEL bucket and that is just what I saw listed. I would revamp that ad by listing all the options and current prices per Kubota website for the B26 since they no longer have the B21 and then emphasis the estimated hours of BH use compared to the total tractor hours. Looks like the FEL has be used much more than the BH so I would state that also. Good luck with your sale, and if you or someone else hasnt bought Andy's machine I may just make him an offer.

CarlNH and Andy (missingtexas) both sent me some PM overnight and photos of the B26. I emailed Andy back that I LIKE IT. Now that almost guarantees Carl will sell his B21 and buy the B26. My luck is never good enough to purchase anything priced reasonable like Andy's B26. I guess I will know in a week if Carl is successful in his bid to sell his machine.
I did also get some bids on other machines. Artrac (Ark tractor dealer) offered me a new G3033 TLB for $19,999 and the CK 20 TLB for $20550. No mention of the price on the R 4041TLB he has on the internet. I dont think it is near the machine that Andy has so I am here and now committing to purchase the B26 if Carl passes on the deal. Will have to work out some logistics for transport and payment on it. I guess I will have to start a new thread under the Kubota forum if this deal comes about.

I just wanted to update this thread on final decision. After getting the pricing from LS on a TLB, the cheapest one my 160 mile away dealer could come up with being $1 dollar shy of $20K, I finally closed the deal on the B26 for $20.5K with MissingTexas. He is going to take it to the local Kubota dealer and have full service done with all fluids changed, full dealer inspection performed and have them email me a report prior to me finalizing the deal. I couldnt ask for more or better service that that. Plus he has no problem with me holding on to my money till June which also gives him time to complete a few home projects with it prior to the servicing.
I could never find another deal like this and want to thank CarlNH for making the hookup for me. Even though I feel sorry (well just a little bit) that Carl didnt sell his B21 so he could buy the B26, I am very estatic about getting this TLB and can barely wait for this job to finish so i can get home and pick it up and start learning how to operate it. I've never operated a backhoe but am pretty proficient with finessing hydraulics and should pick it up fairly quickly. Hopefully I wont have so many holes in my yard that I have to import dirt to fill them in.
Now the farm will have some diversity with tractors, at least until we sell a couple. We have in attendance 1 big LS P7010C, 1 tiny John Deere garden tractor/mower, 2 Craftsman riding lawn mowers(one tractor type and 1 Zero turn), 1 not much bigger John Deere 750 compact, 1 John Deere Gator,1 New Holland boomer 2030, 1 Yanmar 4220D, 1 Kubota RTV 900 and now the Kubota B26 TLB. I dont think anyone can accuse us of being color blind on branding.

Congrats on the purchase. About time you added a TLB to your collection. I have to ask though, why all these tractors and lawn mowers when you are only there a few weeks out of the year it seems? Many seem to be the same type and power too...

Just let me know if you want to trade that P7010C for my R4047.:D

The reason for so many of the same thing is CRAIGSLIST FAULT. I find something that I think I need and with very little to do on the job, just look for bargains. I do occassionally need a second lawnmower, like just before I came back to work, lawn needed mowing and there was a broken deck lift bracket on my ZTR so the old JD was pulled into service. It was originally bought just to mow the sloped areas around my house where the ZTR would slowly drift downhill. That has been corrected now with some tractor type R1 tires that I stole off wifes golf cart. Seems they are the exact same size rim. I had bought 4 to put on the cart when it was snow bound one year and they worked well (2front just for looks) and never thought to check the sizes as they looked so much smaller than the lawnmower tires. Well finally checked and stole the 2 front from the golf cart. Works great but will dig a good hole if you push it hard in a turn.
The old Yanmar was my first tractor and it has done a lot of work, digging up stuff, bushhogging large saplings etc. and it works fine, just a bit tight in the operator platform and no AC in summer heat, hence the big LS with CAB. LS has twice the HP I need really but man is it a brute and comfortable to drive and operate but its large frame limits where I can go with it AND it leave tracks in the lawn even when it is dry. SO now I get to thinking I could sure use a backhoe but not such a big one as a 580 Case, just something to dig up the yearly rock crop that pops up. Been using the FEL and that tears up a parcel of land getting them out sometimes. Got and electric golf cart and later wife mentioned that it would be nice to have gas backup in case the batteries failed on the other one, hence a gasoline powered one which she hardly (never ) uses but the grandsons use it in the summer vacation visits so it may be around for a couple more years(they are 13 now)
Now when I get the B26 home, I am going to have to sell the Yanmar, just dont have any place left to keep everything without taking up my work shop area or clustering the lawnmowers in with the boat in the new boat storage area which will work for a while till I can sell the Yanmar.
OH almost forgot the Kubota RTV 900. Found that on Craigslist also at substantial discount from new with only 63 hours so bought it. One of my better buying decisions. I use it everyday. Wife didnt like it at first because it was so big and perferred her golf cart. Gradually got used to driving it and now her golf cart kinda sets along with the gas powered Yamaha one waiting for the grandkids to come. Yesterday she mentioned that she wouldnt mind having her own Kubota so we will have to see on that one. I dont think I can justify 2 RTVs and 2 golf carts even with the 2 grandsons with us. They usually only use one of the two carts. Only time will tell if I need to build on more to may storage areas. I still have some room under my patio deck which is where the gas golf cart homes.

:confused2: Lots of toys! Definitely need the backhoe in the collection. Might could use a bulldozer too. :D

You mentioned the P7010C having too large a frame to get in some places, if you were back there making up your mind again and had the option of a U5030C for 3 or 4k less, would you have gotten the smaller U5030C? I don't know how much smaller that might be compared to the P series but I've kinda been toying with the idea of upgrading to one of them myself. My R4047 just doesn't have quite enough power sometimes.

As I remember, the first thing Gary did with the P7010 was to dig a pretty good sized lake, which involved removing some giant rocks. (You can find the thread and pics if you do a search.) I'm guessing that might have taken quite a bit longer with a U5030. I went with a little S3010 and still have problems maneuvering in the woods sometimes -- mostly hitting limbs with the canopy.

Hey Gary,

I really think that you will like the B26. I have an L35 TLB, but what really sold me was the sub-frame that ties the backhoe and the loader together. I liked how it isolated my (ab)use from just certain areas of the tractor frame and spreads it out over the entire chassis.

I don't think that it has the quick attach for the loader arms that ag tractor loaders have, but I have never wanted my loader off, so it was a non-factor for me.

Safe travel back to the States and enjoy your new purchase.

/ TLB Anyone bought an LS? #19
You are correct BWD - the loader arms are not intended to be removed from the B26. The B26 loader comes standard with the Skid Steer Quick Attach option so it is very easy to remove the bucket, forks or whatever.

Regards,

Lauren
