TN - New Holland or Stoll loader?

I am about to buy a new TN. One of the dealers I am shopping suggested a Stoll (German made) loader. It is considerably cheaper than the NH. Looking at the specs on their website it has a higher lift height, but has a lower breakout and lift capacity. Anyone have any experience with these?

Personal opinion and that is it. I am not a big fan of aftermarket products. There fine until there is trouble or something major happens. You got the two manufactures pointing fingers at each other and your standing in the middle. And unfortunately your dealer ends up in the middle also. Me, I would go with the New Holland.

Again this is just me.

Agreed on the New Holland loaders. After speaking with the engineer at www.Millerloader.com whom supplies most dealers with the ?32LA NH loaders for the TN series, I think you would be much better off with the NH brand. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif IH3444

I think your aftermarket loader may actually hurt the value of your TN. If you ever go to sell it, it may make the tractor worth less because it's a non-OEM loader. If someone wanted to add a 32LA, they would have to take off the Stoll and it's mounting brackets and install the NH OEM stuff. They probably would not do that, they'd just not buy the tractor.

If the loader were a well known brand like Woods or Bush Hog, that would be far less a problem. When you figure what the price of the whole tractor is and the additional amount for the 32LA, the additional cost is nothing over the life of the tractor. You'll also have a first rate product that anyone can buy and take to any NH dealer anywhere and get service on that loader. That's value in my book.

So, to answer your question, I don't know anything about the Stoll loader and not knowing is why I think it would be a mistake to choose it over the 32LA. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Stoll is a very well recognized brand and I would not even put them in the same category as Woods and Bush Hog. Stoll is a high end company and produces loaders for most of the European market for the high hp tractors.

If you had to buy an aftermarket loader then Stoll is the way to go. I would still get the OEM loader though as it was designed for the tractor.

Did you ever notice that most European tractors with loaders have aftermarket loaders (with a lot being Stoll). I do wonder why the OEM's don't push their own loaders like they do here.

Robert, I didn't mean to imply the Stoll was not a well-made loader, just that it is not as well known as Woods or Bush Hog. Perhaps being a european brand they are known more on the east coast than here in middle America. As you indicated though, it's hard to beat the 32LA since it is manufactured by NH and serviced by all dealers.

I suspect that since most New Holland loaders are manufactured here in the U.S. that the additional costs associated with international sales, shipping, and tariffs might have something to do with availability in Europe. After all, if Stoll can sell their loader for less here in the U.S., then think how much lower their loaders would be in Europe.

Quicke loaders are another high quality loader made in europe. I think it is Swedish, could be wrong on that though. The New Holland dealer I bought my TC48 from mated them up to the much larger NH ag tractors. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Clearly Stoll is not very well recognised universally. I am also in New York State, have been in and around the Ag machinery industry all my life, and this thread is the first I have heard of them. Might be the best loader available, but you couldn't prove it by me. I agree that a lesser known brand loader will hurt resale value. The buyer needs to consider whether that is an important factor or not.

A co-worker of mine has a Stoll loader on his CaseIH Maxxum tractor. He likes it, but he hasn't had it a full year yet.

I only became aware of Stoll loaders in the last year or two. I saw one for the first time at a local fair a couple of months ago. It looked pretty good.

Think maybe it just boils down to a comfort level. When we bought our rig we went with a New Holland FEL & BH. I don't know if they are any better than the rest but if something went wrong I didn't want to get caught in the middle.

There were alternatives and some were less money too.

Thanks for the replies. I personally lean towards the NH ( I like the Hyd line routing better) but at $1500 more than the Stoll I had to question if it is really that much better. Resale is not a factor to me... I hope to keep this one as long as the last NH.

As mentioned earlier, have a look at ALO Quicke Loaders. Hands down one of the best loaders produced!! They have been building Quick attach loaders since 1957. When Our neighbour bought his 7740 SLE, he was lookin at a NH loader, after he told them what he was doing with it, they told him to forget the NH and go with the ALO. You cant beat them!!

In your case, I would go with the Stoll.

New Holland OEM loader is built by Alo, and the Stoll Loader is as good if not better. The Stoll has a few advantages like the bucket will compleatly dump. Take a good look at some other loaders and you will find they don't compleatly dump all the way. In my neck of the woods you see alot of the Snow removal guyss using Stoll, they say the arms stand up better the others.

Stoll are a very good loader and a very popular brand all over the world but i would have to say nothing compares to a QUICKE loader.

I had a FEL installed about a year ago on my TN75. I had the same questions and all dealers I talked to recommended Woods or Bush Hog over NH loaders because of price. It was about 15% to 20% difference and quality was as good. If the extra $1,000 to $1,200 doesn't matter then I would also recommend NH loader. I eventually went with Bush Hog and no problems so far. I went with the NH blue and the color matches perfectly.

I'm not sure if it still the case, but up until very recently in Europe Stoll manufactured loaders for NH and NH sold them as their own. Quicke and Howard do the same in Europe for Massey Ferguson and John Deere respectively as far as I know.

Stoll did make loaders for NH, but recently NH changed to Quicke/ ALO. They are competitors. You cannot buy a Quicke aftermarket loader for a Case/ NH as the dealers are prohibited from selling it to you. You HAVE to go to Case/ NH. Cost for a TN series is $8500 no dickering.

I put a Stoll on my TN75.. Model F8 Robust, self leveling with soft drive. I love it, it is fantastic and cost over $1,000 less.
