TN60A clutch issue

Hello all, This is my first post here but have been lurking for a while. I own a 2006 Tn60A with 493 hours on it and have a clutch question. I cranked the tractor today and pressed the clutch in, then put it in forward and as I tried to shift into 2nd the tractor surges forward. I have to yank it into or out to get it to move or stop. Is my clutch gone? Thanks in advance.

Is your clutch adjusted correctly? 493 hours is nothing for a clutch, hard to believe it could be "gone."

We delivered a tractor on a Friday in May and by Monday the owner had completely destroyed the clutch in 9 hours of running time.
I can think of another tractor that lived on a horse farm that required a clutch every 8 months for 2-1/2 years. After a staff change, the clutch lasted the rest of the tractor's life there.

Let's hope that isn't the case with the OP. On the bright side, those clutch abusers are good for business, although I can imagine they blame it on the tractor. :laughing:
