I can relate, rats ate my wire harness to.Thet built huge nest's in the engine compartment between weekends. Any body have a better way of keeping mice out of your equipment? kje

Called the dealer today - McGarvey Equipment in Reynoldsville, Pa - to find out the source of the electrical problems. Seems as though some fuses were blown; headlight lamps were shorted-out, etc.
This is all the info I received because they were busy.
More details will follow..but the New Holland representative recommended the mechanic check the alternator output as they've had problems with "over-exhuberant" alternators causing electrical shorts in the system.
Details to follow.
Just and editorial comment: The folks at McGarvey Equipment have been fantastic to deal-with. Recommend anyone in the central Pennsylvania area to visit them.

Got my TN65 back from the dealer this past Thursday and it runs great!!
The electrical problems (and others) were this:
1. Two blown fuses - the "main one" did not indicate is was blown. There's a
little "window" on the fuse to indicate if it was blown, but in this
incident... it was on the side of the fuse, so you'd never know it it
was blown.
The second fuse was for the headlights. Seems as though the right
headlight had a short in it and it too did not indicate a blown fuse.
They had to replace the headlight bulb...which wasn't cheap.
2. The radiator cap was defective. I wondered why I would refill the radiator
and soon after, it would leak the solution out. They had to order the
radiator cap.
Only 638 hours on the meter....guess that's not bad.
Now...I'm ready for winter with a new engine block heater installed. Time to push snow around using the 8' rear blade and the loader.
Watch it be a mild winter!!!

I store my TN70A in a small barn. I leave the hood up. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I think it might discourage the mice from nesting under the hood, since it is open and exposed. What do you think?

PS It also forces me to check fluids, etc. before I start up.

What is disco? What is a disco bulb?
