While my wife, yes my wife was spraying yesterday evening, I heard a squeal come from the front of the tractor. This squeal lasted about 10 seconds and would recur about every 3-5 mins and quit. She had the A/C on and was just going at a steady pace. Is this just a belt that is squealing and needs some belt goop or something more serious. Only has 130 hrs on it. Also when she was through spraying and idled down it stopped.

Thanks in advance for your help. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

My friend had the same problem on his 2wd TN. I don't remember what the deal was on it but he traded the tractor in on a FWA model and I know he doesn't have that problem on the new one. Time for an upgrade /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Might be high head pressure due to dirty rad/condensor screen, or a belt that needed to be snugged up after the first 10-20 hours. If the belt is glazed it may do no good to tighten now; do not overtighten and damage bearings.

Neighbor down the street had the same problem with a TN70D and it turned out the belt needed replaced. Once they get glazed they are worthless.

When i mowed today, i heard after 15 min a strange sound, i opened my front window and it was a terrible sound.
My tractor was screaming!
I put the ac of and it was quiet. I put him on again 10 minutes and again that screaming sound.
Tomorrow i will call my dealer
My tractor isn't a TN but a TCE (also NH)

Sounds like a compressor to me. There is compressor lubricant that can be injected in with the refregerant to lubercate the bearings. Less than $10 at an autoparts store. Sometimes works well. Much cheaper than new compressor.

I have a friend that operates a full service garage. Or it used to be full service. He stopped working on air conditioners. The problem being individual would state the unit just stopped putting out cold air, or it just started making a strange noise. After working on the unit and several hundred dollars of parts later the owner would state, "I had a friend and he only had to put a can of freon in his", you robbed me.

I said all of that to say, as more and more people acquire cab tractors with heat and A/C and use then in a rough environment, service will become a nightmare, and costly. Cars and trucks operate for the most part on paved or fairly smooth dirt roads and I have seen some weird problems caused by vibrations.
