Ah, don't mind telling you what I paid but I'm not in the US right now near the invoice and won't be for a couple of months. I think it was something like this..
TN75D deluxe cab, a/c, cd, shuttle shift, 16x16, 3rd remote, self leveling FEL, hd bucket with cutter, NH Backhoe (which I would not get again) with HD bucket was around $36K. The invoice reflects itemized prices but as I said not close at hand.
I wouldn't hold my breath on the price being exactly right either, like I said, I'm in Tokyo with no access to invoice. But working backwards, I put $4K down and I'm paying $1K/mo 0% interest, that must have made it $40K for the package (but that doesn't seem right either).
One thing other little item, my son (UO, Eugene student) went by to get the keys back from the NH Dealer in Junction City, OR because I've had nothing but problems with the NH backhoe working and the dealer was suppose to be working on the problem. Luckily he arrived as they were closing down the place and got the extra keys back but the service guy wouldn't say what was done if anything at all. So maybe they couldn't make a profit at the prices they were selling them at. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
I'm not sure what I paid either since I first bought a TN75S and then traded it for a TN75D and got about $3k back. I have a Woods 1050 backhoe on mine and it works fine. What doesn't work right on your backhoe? I had a 758 on my 2120 for years before I traded it fo the 1050.
Those prices sound really low to me - I'm looking at a TN65 with 32 LA MSL loader, R4 tires, Bradco 609 backhoe, and 84" Box Scraper for about $35K. If I could get a TN75D for just a few thousand more, I'd definitely go for it. List on those units is about $43K for the tractor alone, so it's hard to believe anyone could sell a full package like that for around $40K.
When trying to use the backhoe when we first got it the 'valve' (meaning third remote) would always pop out with very little presure on the BH. Always turning around throwing the lever back to engage was a pain. Service guy put a stick to hold the valve lever in place in the cab after turning out the flow to it's max, said they'd order a new control valve unit. The other annoying item was after I'd disconnected the unit I'd come back and it would be collapsed on the barn floor. Sales guy saw it and said that it should never do that and would get service on it.
Well they came down and replaced the control valve unit and the BH works even worse now. If I want to even scratch the ground with the bucket, it pops the valve. I took off to Japan for work and sent the keys to the dealer to have it looked at again, I didn't hear a thing and like I said my son was going down to check on a few things on the property and needed the keys. He didn't get any news on the condition of the tractor/BH and now the dealer is gone from Junction City.
When I get back this issue is going to take a serious turn, I'm not paying $8677 for something that doesn't work, NH will either fix it or take it back.
Here are the answers to your concerns. In storage, the backhoe SHOULD NOT be supported by the cylinders. Any valve/ cylinder combination will leak down over time. Dismount the hoe, move the tractor ahead enough to clear the mounts but not stretch the hoses, and lower the hoe to the ground, disconnect the hoses. Reverse the process to install.
The detented remote has an adjustable pressure setting on the detent. It can be set above the system relief pressure so it will not kick out during hoe operation. Please note if you have this done, the remote valve will also not return to neutral when operating a common cylinder to the end of its stroke, potentially damaging the hyd pump. This situation wil occur with any brand tractor/hoe when the remote valve is used as a power beyond source. I recommend leaving the detent set below relief pressure and mechanically setting the remote valve lever (with a tarp strap, perhaps) to supply oil without interruption to the hoe control valve. Hope this helps.
