After experimenting with different engine oil filters (overnight oil bleed down), without doubt, the New Holland oil filter is by far the best. As soon as I installed the New Holland filter, I noticed a big difference. Engine is quieter with no oil starvation knock on startup. They must use a different internal check valve arrangement. While I think a good quality oil film will protect the engine on startup, using the OEM filter definately prevents starvation knock, even after the engine has been shutdown for a week or so.
